On the Journey to Success, You can Fail But Never Give Up

Life is a long journey. Have you ever tried to chew a stake without cutting it? Although it may be possible, I am sure it would be to most dreadful thing to do. In other words, the only way you can enjoy a steak is by cutting it in small pieces. The journey to success is just like eating a steak, you can only enjoy it in small pieces. what do you think about it?

Hello getbrowswer. I totally agree with you that we should never give up even if we fail on the journey to success. Hence failure is the mother of success. So long as we persist in what we are trying to attain, we will be successful eventually.

In the long journey of life, we went throguh diversified experiences, some happy, some sad, but all of good value when we look back. Hardships and failures are of special value, as they help us to become smarter when encountering similar issues. Nobody without rich experience can be of high qualification, capable of steering for the right direction.

Very well said getbrowser. Another way of looking at life is to set yourself a major objective, but set more achievable targets along the way to getting to your goal.

Hi getbrowser, You make a good point about life being a long journey. The thing is we must learn to enjoy the journey itself just as we enjoy each piece of the steak. Sometimes we are in such a hurry to succeed, to reach a certain point, that we miss the fun of getting there. Blessings.

yes, I agree that life is a long journey. The journey to success is also very hard and difficult, and I guess work consistently without giving up is the right way to go. Failure will knock once in a while, but never give up is a right thing to do. Have a positive attitude and move on, you will see success at the end of the tunnel.

Sucess is best enjoyed when it comes in little pieces, one comes and you move on looking for a new conquest to if it comes all at once it can overwealm us and after a while life becomes boring because there is nothing to look forward to after a while. i like my sucesses to come one at a time

Very good atitude to our life...there is a old saying in China " those who can draw lessons from their failure are destined to success. so failure is not bad, we all encounter kinds of failure during our life journey, but if you give up, you will have nothing. on the contrary, you will approach your success more closer...thanks for your posting...

You are definitely right. As the common saying.. "a journey to a thousand miles begins with a single step" I am sure that you will surely succeed if you have the will and the determination to do so. No matter what, even if you fail, you must stand up until you succeed. The great Einstien once said, " I found 1 way to make a light bulb and 1001 ways how not to do it. It clearly shows that he failed so many times before succeeding. That should be our attitude.

Another analogy would be that you can enjoy a steak in one big piece but you'll wind up with a big mess--juice and grease all over yourself, the plate, your clothing as well as a full stomach. By finding the tools you need to cut it into neat pieces, you get the job done with minimal mess and cleanup and you still get a full stomach! Success is finding the right tools and making the least mess while accomplishing your goals!

Well I heard it said that happiness is not reaching your destination but the journey. One small step at a time will avoid having to take a step back. Sometimes doing too much too soon may mean that things are not done properly which may result in having step back again to do it right.

Hello there. I agree, success is an ongoing thing and comes in many varieties into each life, one step at a time toward each goal we set. Success is all the sweeter when we enjoy the journey! Once reached, time to achieve the next dream, and the next....and...yep, yet another one. Karen

Yes, life is really a long journey, it it is like a never ending street sometimes bumpy, sometimes smooth. It is also like an ocean so calm for a while but all of a sudden big waves come to drown a ship. But we should always remember, no matter what our road is, we should strive to survive. Ask the guidance of the one immortal God. Learn from our mistakes too and never commit the same again. Because as we grow older, farther in our journey we earn wisdom and strength to win more battles ahead. God Bless!

Oh, my. I had an image of chewing on a stake...and then I thought does getbrowser mean a stalk? I used to enjoy chewing on a stalk of sugar cane when I was young and could get one. Ah, but then the delicious aroma of a nicely cooked steak came to mind. I wonder how many people here view success as an ongoing process and how many think of attaining it as a hurdle you have to jump over and then enjoyment is on the other side. Philosophically, it is attractive to go with the first view, but in reality I find myself thinking more like the second. Probably it depends on how attainable one's goals are. If they are a bit beyond reasonable reach, then it is harder to enjoy the process, but with perserverance one may still attain them.

Small bites is fine but I for one would rather have one bit bunch of it at one time. Then some small bits here and there. Just continuance would be nice.

Everything started in small pieces anyway, once you taste and enjoy little success for sure you'll dream of a bigger one. Right don't give up, as those who defaulted never wins.

There will never be success without failure. Failure measures how determined and focused are you in reaching your goal. This is not easy but it adds spice and color to your journey in reaching success. I always look at failure as an opprtunity for me to exert extra effort make good and even give my best in everything i do. It challenges me to be more creative in handling things and finding its solutions. Failure also made me a better person. Giving up? NO WAY! I love steak and i enjoy eating it the way you describe it.

As the Count of Monte Cristo said a man who has felt ultimate despair is capable of feeling ultimate bliss. With this, I can say that success is much sweeter if you've given it much of your time and effort.

Hello friend...getbrowser You have said it well and expressed it well...that is how really life goes on.If I am hasty or beyond my capacity it is very likely to fall down. So it is very important for me to go smoothly little by little and make sure that I am on the right track and consuming the right quantity.....I would always make sure to enjoy it in small small pieces.
