Disclaimer : I am not trying to steal your mylot secrets just trying to get some clarity on an issue
There was a gentleman here who used to get many responses for his discussion (he is not here anymore ) who once said that the best time to start discussions was in the evening when everyone was home. Now that made sense and I must admit I tried it and got pretty good results ...
Lately however, I have been testing that theory and starting discussions early in the morning and I have been gettting good results as well.Consequently this has led me to start reviewing my long held view and to believe that it is really my friends and the appeal of the discussion that determines how many responses I get. That to me seems logical because even if you start a discussion at a time when every one is mylotting and it doesnt appeal to anyone then no one will respond. In addition, there is never a time when everyone is here because many people live in different time zones so what is evening for you could be morning for someone else and vice versa.
[b]I do stand corrected if evidence can be found which shows a clear link between teh time of post and the number of responses,so that is my task for you my most faithfull friend and fellow mylotters
BIG THANK YOU TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAITHFULL RESPONDERS ,YOU ARE THE BOMB

Well, from a member who has been here for over 3 yrs., I really feel the Best time to start a discussion is a time when you feel a discussion you want to start is worth starting here as well. Personally I have tried many different times here myself and it often depends on the type of discussion I am starting here for sure. I know that there are times I do get better results than others, but it can really be the Topic of interest that gets more for sure.
All I can say is no matter what people are finding that works Best for them, I can say myLot continues to be the Best place to be, and wishing you the Best as well.

I would have to say the morning. I say this because the people who work nights might be online in the morning and the people who work days generally check their email notifications in the late afternoon or evening. In my case starting a discussion later in the evening has been a disaster. Many of the day people might already be signed off for the night. The content of the discussion is also very important. When I start a craft discussion, I know I am limiting myself to a few members who will have any interest in responding. On the other hand, I've had good responses to a subject that is rather disgusting..lol

I don't think there is a "right " time to start a post. I start posts when I Finally have a question or comment to share. The amount of responses you get all depends on the post. If the subject is popular enough, you can start it whenever you like and people will find it.

I have learned something from you today. But since I have only a short time every time I am online, I don't have the luxury of following the suggestion that you have mentioned. I just logged in during my own free time and look at the no responses discussions and respond to any discussion that I can give my personal views and opinions. May be in the future, it would be good to be in the right time when most mylot members are at home.

Hello my friend ronnyb Ji,
For me there is no such time, I further decline to submit that, I never worry that I should get more responses, it is only my idea, which comes to my mind and if I fail, I just and simply forget. So in my case, as and when an idea comes, I just write. May god bless You and have a great time.

Hi there!
I do not think that there is any so called best time to start a particular discussion to get number of responses. What matter is contents of the discussions and who started it. I normally get large number of responses, irrespective of the timing of my discussions.

I’m in Australia and I am usually here during the day while my daughter is at school and a lot of my friends from the States for example are tucked up in bed but I still find a lot of them kindly respond to my discussions. I usually have to wait until the next day but the responses usually come so I don’t think time zones make any real difference.

Hi ronnyb, I go along with the 'best time' bit in a way, not a certain time of day but the time when a few friends are obviously active at the same time so it gets a bit of a kickstart. But apart from that it doesn't really hold true as as you pointed out time zones, people up at odd hours like the middle of their night.
What proves it isn't the time though is I put a discussion up I believe on Wednesday about noon here and by midnight it had about ten responses, but by Thursday it had about 40, a lot of those sneaking in whilst I was sleeping. It is also best to try and avoid that digest thingy as that brings additional responses from the thing direct.

I find that anytime is alright to post a discussion as well as reply to a discussion. There are always lots of people on here at all times of the day and night. There are discussions being started all the time in most of my topics i like. There are alot of people saying that who only come on here of a weekend and not during the week as they tend to be at work.I do tend to try to respond to people that are friends first then i respond to a few new people as that way they also get the chance of earning,as well as try to keep them on here.

I don't think it really matters, all that much as it just depends on the one starting them. I don't usually start discussions, and when I have, it was at diffeent times. To me, the most important thing is to find a topic of interst to other users and then start one. That is the hardest part of all is trying to find a topic that others will be interested in posting to. I have had that myself, and that is why I don't start them all that much, as I just can't seem to come up with a good topic, one that others will be interested in responding to. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

For me, it depends on the type of discussion you start, people normally respond if the topic is controversial or something that they can relate about. It doesn't matter the time of day you started it, when it caught someone attention they'll surely comment on it. Cheers!

I think first we have to increase the number of friends.Mainly they only (not everytime)posting responses.I'm new in this site ,so I got something useful from your discussion.

I has a similar idea as yours. The responses are not determined by a right time, but a right topic and also, a group of friends! But if most of your friends are in the same time zone, maybe for you, there exists a "good time" to start discussions.LOL
