Where to find japanese friends ?

I have been wondering for some time now. I've always been into japanese culture, people and language therefore I was very interested in finding some japanese friends online with whom I could write e-mails, chat or simply leave message on Facebook. The find of stuff you do with cyber friends, except for the fact that I want to go to Japan as soon as I can therefore I could also meet them. I checked a few websites but you need to pay in order to contact them. Does anybody can help?

well i believe there is always a japanese community in every country, why don't you try looking one in your area? try going to those japanese restaurants. i think thats a best place to start looking for a japanese friend.

unfortunately I can't seem to find any japanese community in my area but I did find a few websites thanks to which you can get in touch with japanese people who either live in Japan or in Italy (I know there'a a japanese guy in my city who set up a studio in which he teaches japanese, I so wish I had enough money to go ^^). Eheh I already tried with restaurants but the people there are all sooo busy that they can't even stop for a second. How do I let them understand I'd like to start some kind of friendship with them? I really have no idea, japanese people are all sooo shy :D

i have a japanese friend here and "shy" is the is far from their character.. or maybe by this friend of mine only. well good luck in your japanese friendship hunt.

hello... i am very glad that you want to meet some japanese friends... they are really very interesting people... they have a very interesting culture and tradition... :D :D i am a japanese teacher in an online english school... i always talk to them everday in skype... :D :D :D you know what to do next right? :D :D :D
