Im so thin and skinny and I dont like it! I eat a lot, I actually eat anything and at least 4 to 5 meals a day. How come Im not getting any fatter? I want to gain weight so I can easily fit into normal clothes and dont have to look for a tailor to make me up some pants. Help me, any suggestions, what exactly do I need to eat or to do to gain more weight? Thanks!

Nothing you can do that healthy for you really, I have the same problem I just live with it, I'm almost 30 now have gained a lil, but I never had any woman complain so I don't worry about it.
I have back problems now an am thankful I don't have extra weight.
If you really want you can try lifting weights an protein shakes, but it's gonna take a ton of work for someone with high metabolism to see results I know, all I did was get stronger not bigger.

Most weight gain shakes are like drinking sand, an will even make your crap out stuff that looks like sand, I know I tried it, didn't do nothing for me but upset my stomach.
I used to weigh around 145 pounds now I'm close to or at 160 at all times, but I haven't taken those awful shakes since i was 22 so in 7 years I have naturally gained weight but I'm still thin, I'm not short either I'm 6 ft 2,.
Like I said after awhile I stopped caring, then when my back got hurt I was thankful I didn't any extra weight to carry around.

saw this discussion and was basically going to say the same thing. i've had this after illness and the answer is basically as you said - balanced meals with maybe extra protein and exercise. however if you are otherwise fit then maybe that is just your metabolism - keep healthy and try not to worry about it.

Hello friend..
You said you eat well and still you are not gaining weight...so there may be a problem that may be cured by using some kind of medical treatment......Why don't you consult a specialist on this field may he can come up with a clue.....
And the common folks say if we are thin we have to do some workouts and eat well...and this way we can gain weight......that means you can go to an aerobic class and at the same time eat as you do or more than that..

I think by eating some oily stuff and pure ghee or butter products can make one healthy and fat. So people stay away from these as they want to be slim. I am happy to know that there are people who still want to be fat which most of the people wont.

Seems like you are at a good start. Maybe a few more carbs might help. I of course have the opposite problem..losing baby weight not so easy. You could ask your doctor. He/She may have some helpful/healthy guidelines. Good luck, I hope you gain the weight you want

Hi, redphile. I'm a girl, and I'm so jealous of you, I want to lose my weight every minute, and it's really hard to do. I think gain weight will be easier than lose weight, you can eat some nuts and chocolate, and it's better to eat them at night, I like to eat nuts and chocolate, so that's why I gain weight, and now I really want to lose weight, be slight again.

one burger joint for you that would do the trick... MC DONALDS!!!
1 burger = more than 1000 calories i.e. a BIG MAC. ew, but yeah
too true. Just watch that documentary supersize me if you wana
gain weight. XD
Other suggestions, eat lots of chocolate (goes straight to the thighs), fast food, potatoes, people say you gain more in the butt if you eat peanut butter.

How thin are you? Any picture of you? What I can suggest is take more mashed potatoes and one day you will become sumo wrestler.

Hi, redphile.
I am experiencing the same situation as you are. I am one hunred and seventy-three tall and weigh fifty-five kilogrammers.
I had eaten a lot of food, drunk many kind of nourishments, done exercise regularly, and so on......but none of them works. So, i gived it up, now i just let nature take its course.
Now i do not worried aboout it at all. Do you notice the people around you? They will be as fat as an alderman when they are forty, even if they were thin guys before. Hahaha.....
So, do not worry about it any more.
Happy mylotting......

I also meet with the same problem as yours. Two years ago I was medium figure, but gradually I became thin day by day.I rack my brains trying to know what resulted in such significant change on me,however I cann't find the reason.I'm quite worried about it,if anyone can give me some useful suggestion to gain weight,I'll appreciate very much.

I have the same dilemma as yours, the only difference is I'm male and it's a bit awkward being skinny. Until now I'm still the same skinny person though thru the help of eating chocolate I see some lbs on the scale but still not enough to get an obvious result. Probably I'll just stick to the mindset that everyone of us is unique no matter how small or big you are. happy mylotting.

I am a kind of skinny girl like you. I do feel well even though I need to tailor the pants I bought, but it makes me look beautiful with slim figure. As a matter of fact, most of my frends just said I am too slim to be healthy and my boyfriend advised the same. Now he served as my nutritioniest that he prepare the oatmean for my breakfast, and milk before I went to sleep. After one month's practice, it seems that it could help to gain weight.
There is a rule to get slimmer that more meals less food. If you are skinny, I don't think the rule is suitable for you. Somebody takes a lot of food, but just can not gain weight like you. I assumed that your Gastrointestinal absorption did not function well, you can take the herbs to condition your stomach first.
Happy mylotting.

The reason for your condition could be stress. Try to be positive, avoid bad emotions and worries. Also take vitamins, eat meat and a lot of fruits and vegetables. Drink a lot of water per day, about 1,5-2 liters. You can exercise more because it is good for the appetite. You can go to swimming or tennis or and start some other sport activity. If you do some of these things in few month you will feel better, healthier and it is sure that you will gain weight.
