do you cook, or does your partner?

Out of all of the meals I've had with my partner, I don't think he's cooked a single one. But I don't really mind, because I enjoy cooking, and he does contribute towards the cost of the meal, so it's not like I'm paying for it all or anything.

I do most of the cooking at our house. When my husband and I first met, he did the majority of the cooking, but then when I was home on maternity leave after our daughter was born, I started cooking more and found that I surprisingly enjoyed it. Since then, I've been the one that does the majority of the cooking. In a certain sense over the course of almost seven years it has become therapeutic to me. I also love to get on the internet and find new recipes to find to feed my family.
My husband does all of the grilling and occasionally he will cook dinner on the stove, but it is mostly up to me and I don't mind that at all.

What web sites do you go to to find new recipes? My husband and I are on a tight budget (and he is diabetic) so I am always looking for healthy ways to cook on a budget. If you could please send me some sites I would really appreciate it.

I am the cook in our family. If I left it up to my husband we might be poisoned, again. Yes he gave us all food poising one night (before we had kids). I don't let him do more then pasta with canned sauce..lol
I do always have help though. I alternate nights with my kids so each one has their own night to cook dinner with me alone. This way we get a little one on one tome as well as they are learning how to cook so I don not have to worry about them sending a group of 6 of us to the hospital (us, his brother & girlfriend, and his folks).

I think it is great you spend one on one time with your kids and allow them to help you cook. Having them cook with you teaches them responsibility and also teaches them how to cook when they become adults. I remember when I was three years old my mom and I would make cookies around Christmas time and she would alow me to help with the measuring, dump the ingredients into the bowl and spoon the dough onto the cookie tray.

lol..it has to be me. Besides the very occassional instant noodles that he makes (which must have been like 5 times in more than 10 years), my husband cooks nothing. When we were getting married, I told him I couldn't cook and he said that's fine because he could. I blindly believed him...but turned out he didn't even know as much as I did. Well, I learnt and I've stuck to my part all these years. And yeah, I prefer to do it myself because his getting into the kitchen means more trouble for me.

We both cook but I do most of it. He will come in and help and ask me what I want him to chop and so forth.

Since i got laid off of work, i do most of the cooking because i am home and can have the meal ready for when my husband and son walk in at 5h30. But before that, we were both working and would both get home at 5h30, so while i took care of our son (he's now 21 months old), hubby did the cooking. He's an ex chef anyways, so he does enjoy it, and so do I, so really, we both don't mind who does the cooking, as long as we eat lol

I do most of the cooking in our family. My husband will cook sometimes though. But when he cooks he usually makes the easy stuff. If we have to go by a recipe then I have to be the one to make it. But if it's something easy like mac/cheese or pancakes and eggs or something simple like that then he can make it. But I usually do most of the cooking. I don't mind it though.

Hi Gemma,
I do most of the cooking, but my husband helps also, infact he is a better cook than me, he likes to cook, so sometimes during weekends he will do the cooking..... but mostly it is my job.... and he will still help in cutting vegetables or washing dishes later... he is a gem of a person....

Sometimes my wife cooks for the family. At times my sister-in-law cooks for us. We share the chores. I am the one who do the washing up. Sharing is beautiful.

I do cook most of the meals. My partner cooks once every blue moon. If he cooks, it is a tasty meal even though it is usually the same meal.He does not try out new things. Just like yours. mine contributes towards the cost of the meal. I love to cook and I am always trying out new things.

Actually my husband and I cook together every night (except Saturday's because that is our date night). I like the idea that we both cook together because it gives us time to be together. We also do grocery shopping together. He does a great job with saving money. I have been happily married for over two years now and the team work is great.

I do the cooking unless we are grilling outside. When we first got together, he fixed me dinner. He fixed marzetti, he cooked the macaroni, added hamburger, and poured a whole bottle of ketchup on it for sauce. It was sickening, but I had to eat a little of it, but I always start dinner early.

My hubby and I cook. We take turns. I think my hubby enjoys it more than I do. He is forever creating and trying new dishes. I tend to stick to the tried and true. I get dinner or whatever meal it is to the table quicker that way. With 2 kids, timing is everything. I think we are pretty equal with time spent on meals. treats and special occasions my hubby is the winner, hands down.

Actually we both do I guess it all depends on who works later that night or on who came up with an idea as to what we are going to eat that night. My girlfriend is a really great cook and I love everything that she makes because she studies a lot on all natural foods and things like that so it tastes good and is good for you as well.
