Why is it that there are no more 100 or 200 answers discussions in "today's top"

I remember, more than a year ago, when I entered mylot I always find 100 or 200 answers discussions in "today's top". I usually wondered how could people reach that. Some people even posted some kind of "tutorials" explaining that there is a gold hour in which all around the world there are a maximum of internet users connected, so a discussion posted at this moment would probably get so many answers. Others talked about people having there own group of referrals, and they answered each other discussions to work like a team.
I myself have reached in some great discussions about 50 or so answers... then I had a few months that I couldn't get here in mylot. Now I have returned, and it shocks to me to find that "today's top" discussions have only around 20 answers... so what happens? is there a new way to work in mylot?

I know what you mean. When I joined three years ago, most discussions received at least 100 responses, but there were only about 30,000 members then.
Personally, I am not concerned about the number of responses or which ones get into the "today's top". I just like to communicate with friends and have a bit of fun.

Hi, I already joined mylot this year so I don't have ideas what the past situation. As new comers I think people like we need more quality discussion from the senior mylotters.Maybe some of the active members previous year getting bored or find another site that more attractive and can earn more money. So far I'm happy in mylot. In the future I'm not sure I will stick with mylot.

Yup, I notice that too. I think times have changed; and there are more people coming up with discussions the more and most friends are trying hard to cover as many discussion answers as possible. If you see the population of the lot, it's increasing, and hence, I think that's the reason for it. I know what you mean; nowadays answers are at max 2-5 pages only when last time there could tend to be up to 8-9 pages. Unless it's a super hot discussion, 2-5 are it now..

hi missak well now that is strictly up to mylot admins ,the rest of us do not have a darned thing to do about it, I was in todays top but so what? this really does not mean a whole lot to me, I just come here to mylot and enjoy being retired and mylotting, And I also doubt very much that there is any group using tutorials and such crap working like a team, whoever said that is full of hooey.I had one awhile back that had 119 responses and its taken me forever to comment back. I do not honestly think there is any new way to work. things change here yearly and people come and go, and some do more discussions and others do more responding. like I said, I do think it is strictly up to mylot admins which ones they choose and they sure won't tell us why they do whatever they do.

Frankly aside from being pretty busy with work I have become bored with the mylot discussions. They are not only repeats but the discussions themselves just do not grab my attention as former discussions would.
My take on it is that many persons here just do not find the topics that interesting so there is a lot of picking around for discussions to respond to. That I figure has led to the drastic fall off in the number of responses a top discussion gets.
I remember when top discussions were really that... top discussions. Not just because of the number of reponses but really the discussions were that interesting.

I guess people have ran out of ideas and no one wants to respond to an inane discussion
There is no shortage of discussions though as i have been spammed by one of my friends in the friends started section.
I think if a discussion is interesting and fresh then it will get a lot of responses.
