A week ago, the incident of a balloon boy was thought be to on a helium balloon, making such a fuss nationally. Afterward, it was a hoax, and the balloon boy father was sentenced to be 6 years in prison. I just wonder why people would do such stupid thing to get attention from television? Was it worth the price? He already set a bad example for his child. Plus he go through all these hassles to get people's attention, it was just waste our time. Don't you think so?

I agree, the father put the boy life in danger. He may think it is fun. But never thought of the bad consequences to happen. It leave the child to emotional trauma as well. The publicity will give him insecurity for that matter. Anyone who will know him be tagged as BALLOON boy.

I agree, and besides he put his family in a shameful situation. How can he say that he's a good Daddy, a good example to his children when he is the one teaching them the wrong things. He should not use his kids just to gain publicity. If he thinks he's smart he know a lot about things, he knows where to go. He even made the call first to the 2 agencies which he believed would buy hi crap before calling the 911. Coz if its true and his on the right state of his mind, he would have call the 911 first to save his son. This is bull crap & a waste of time...

Not only did he waste our time, he wasted a lot of taxpayer's money. I heard that they family lives on money they make from reality TV shows. I think it's a sad commentary on what TV has done to our society. There is no sense of real responsibility.

That was so terrible I was wathing the whole thing on a web cam someone was taping as the balloon flew around dipping and diving and going way up high. I imagined that little boy in there and was in tears with worry for that little boy and to think it was all a hoax, I think that is so sick, and the fact that they go their children involved and taught them to act and lie it is so terrible. Please any one who saw this do not think that all Americans are like this we are not these people were disgusting and rare.

Hi clorissa I know that is one of the most stupist thing that a parent could ever do. First to have his son go along with a big fat lie, and then to have it put on television on top of that. I think he wanted the attention on his balloon that he had made. Well like one of the responses said he got the attention now, doesn't he. I too feel sorry for the little boy. I just hope that someone can explain to him just wrong it was to do that. Great discussion and have a great day. Keep smiling.
