Do you think you could ever be too old to go trick or treating?
I'm 21 years old and I think I might go trick or treating this year lol
i won't go like i did when i was younger though and get a pillow case full of candy.
that would be too much for me now....but i really don't want to just sit at home so if i don't end up going out. i'm gonna go get me some candy!
At what age did you stop going trick or treating? what are you gonna be for Halloween?

Hi Sameroad,
I still go trick or treating and I'm 46! BUT, I only go to family and friends I don't dress up, I just pop in for a short visit. Several of my family members expect it and makeup goodie bags. It's soooooooo silly I know but, they are old and get a kick out of all the company from family and friends, Let me tell you if I miss a Halloween I hear about it! The things we do for our elders I guess I'm a softy at heart.

I'm 20 years old and believe your never too old. There was a thing in my town that you had to be 16 or younger but no one in the town cares. I went trick or treating until I was 17. When I was 18 I helped my Grandma give out candy, because no one else could. I still love dressing up. Last year I was a Cat.

I quit trick or treating when I was about 14 I think. Maybe it was 13...I'm not sure. My mom's fiance has 2 kids though and I usually go over there and take them out trick or treating. And I have a son and I take him over there trick or treating with them. Then we come back home and I go through all their candy and make sure it's safe. lol Then they give me some to eat. lol They are sweet. My son is 3 and he's going to dress up like Thomas the train for Halloween this year. He was a penguin last year and a chicken the year before that. He was 5 months old his first halloween so I dressed him up as Superman but he didn't get any candy...we just took him out when we took the other kids trick or treating.

hi sameroad oh yes much much too old now, but again when I was growing up we did not yet have that trick or treating thing where you go around begging candy. we had halloween parties and we went out and played tricks on people but no trick or treating. I got into that when my own kids were little, and was always amused and amazed at how much candy those two brought home. we had candy for months at our house. then I also treated the little ones at our door each halloween too and I enjoyed all the many different costumes the kids wore, that was fun for me. now days in our area they all have parties and if you buy candy it never gets used as there are no trick or treaters here any more.

I think there was a law in effect in the county where I grew up. Once you turned 13 years of age, you were no longer aloud to go trick or treating.
My last year was actually when I was 11. That's because the year that I was 12 I got in trouble.
The reason I got in trouble was I was corning cars on Corn Night, and unfortunately wasn't smart enough to wait until after dark so that I wouldn't get caught. Well, my aunt saw me, I guess it was her car that I corned, but I didn't realize it. Then she called my mom, supposedly not knowing that I wasn't aloud to corn cars. Which, I know I shouldn't have been doing it in the first place.
Long story short, my mom said since I was old enough to be out corning, I was too old to go Trick or Treating. So, she grounded me.
Good thing though, since I was stuck in my room, which was right over top of the front porch stairs, I decided to scare the Trick or Treators. I had an old stuffed man that I made in school. I put a wire around it's neck and laid it on the stairs. Whenever someone went to come up the stairs, I would lift it up in front of them. It was hilarious, and scared a lot of kids too. It turned out to be a pretty good Halloween after all!

I trick or treated with my kids when I was 42! You're never too old. I give candy to everyone, no matter their age, if they ask for it and I also keep dog biscuits for the furry gremlins, too.
I have quite a few teenagers each year and I don't mind. Neither do most of the people on our street. If they're at our doors, they're not out causing mischief! And they're having some real fun, too!

The last time I went trick or treating was when I was 12 years old. That was 1998. By that point I had started feeling kind of awkward going, though that possibly might have been due to something else I won't get into. Regardless, that was my last year to go.
