I watched TV yesterday and realized that people would like to keep walking around while they are thinking. Does keep walking around help the ideas coming from the brain? I have the habit to dig nails when I am confused or thinking of anything.
How about you? Are you having the habit of walking around while you are thinking? Or any other habit that will inspire your thinking? Do you think it is a bad habit that you wanna get rid of? Pls share your comment here.

Hi Amyson,
Thanks for your response. I believe that keep walking around will help relieve oneself from tension otherwise people would not do it.
It is funny that you have the habit of looking up on the ceiling whil remembering things. It can roll up your eyes as exercise, um~~.
Happy mylotting.

Haha...My room is too small to walk around while thinking
Actually, I prefer sitting or standing or lying down only, may be with some petty action, such as closing eyes, flowning, and so on. Then I will pick up a piece of paper and writing something down, until I make my thought clearly again.

Yes, flowning is bad for skin. So I just do it, maybe I can call it a sign. It's a habit, but may be it reminds me subconsciously, I'm starting thinking now. Haha...

Hi sasa, I don’t have the habit of walking around while I’m thinking. I have a couple of friends having such habit. It's true that they keep on walking and never aware that such behavior might disturb others in doing thing. Yeah, it worse still if he is walking continuously back and forth in front or near the tv set or us. This of course will distract our attention!
if this were to happen when I visit him or he is at my house, surely I will ask him to continue his walking in other place which is out of my sight. Or I will try my best to help him if the program watching is not that interesting or I can have a pause and continue doing my work later on. I don’t think it’s a bad habit, for everyone has his own way to solve his problem by thinking hard. But the most important thing is one should be aware of such habit might become a disturbance to people around.
When thinking something at home I like lying on the bed on reclining chair looking at the blue sky and moving white cloud relaxingly through the window. I believe when keeping ourselves comfy and tranquil, we then could concentrate on our thinking and find out the best way to get the problem facing settled easily. of course it’s not the only way for me to thinking. I can keep on thinking even if standing or sitting still looking at something in front of me. to be frankly, I could hardly focus on things in front of me for I’m concentrating on what I’m thinking solely.
Have a nice day and happy posting!

You are most welcome sasa! Yeah, everyone has his own habit when thinking deeply. Sometimes I would knock or draw with my pen or pencil continually on the paper. Or keep on turning the pen on my right hand front three fingers. my husband looks more ridiculous when he is pondering a problem. He would move his thumb and forefinger on his nose up and down. Yeah, he shakes his leg at the same time
I believe all these small gestures and habit could keep us relaxed and peaceful when thinking hard... Might be ... by doing so, we then could keep our mind occupied and get the problem solved in a relaxing and easy way. If we are alone there is nothing serious whatever habit we have when thinking. Actually it’s quite normal for us to have different gesture when thinking for this usually would happen unconsciously.
Oh my goodness! How talkative I'm, until I have forgotten what I actually should do when dropping in here again! Yeah, thanks a lot for awarding the BR
Take care and happy posting!

Thanks for your response. I never thought of walking back and forth will disturb others, but I can imagine the situation after I see your description here. It is not a bad habit only if it will not distract your attention while you are put your concentration on your work.
I can learn that we should mind our little gesture in our life. If my colleagues typing the keyboard very loudly and fast, I can not focus on my job as well.

I can generally sit still. My hubby is the pacer. Maybe it helps the blood flow to the brain. I tend to chew on my pinky nail while thinking. I have no idea if it is helpful or not. Certainly not for my fingernail, lol

I don't walk around while thinking. I sit down and put my head in my hands most of the time. I know people do this but I guess most people have their own separate stance while thinking. It varies.

I always walk around when I have something to think about. When i have an assignment to do at university, I will do an hours worth of work, then go for a 20 minute walk, and repeat this pretty much for the whole of the day, or until about 7/8pm. It helps me to clear my head, and lets me carry on for much longer than I would be able to normally.
I can't normally think proprly if im stuck in the house sat down, but if I go for a walk, even if it's only as far as upstairs, I'm always able to think a lot better.

Thanks for your response.
It reminds me of my campus life. The same as you, I would like to have the self-study in the library or the classroom, it is a little tired while I shut myself in one desk over one hour, then I prefer to go outside to have the breeze and the streching excericse to reflesh my mind. It is a good idea to effiency the homework.
Happy mylotting.

No. I don't do it. But, I know people who does it. One example is my former room mate. Everybody will come to know that she is seriously thinking about something when you we see her walking to and fro in the same room. I think when I walk. Soemtimes I walk home from office. It will take 20 minutes of walk to my house from office. I will be thinking about many issues on the way.

Thanks for your response. I am not one of the those who can think up better idea while talking back and forth, but I have the habit to think a tiny thing while I walk back home. Once a time, when I walk back home, My mind is just absent-minded that I almost bump into another guy, which scares me a lot. Hope you you will not happen to that situation.. Happy mylotting.

Hi... Yes that is true. there are a lot of people who do that and I am one of them. I think I could think more deeper thoughts if I would be walking around the blocks on our neighborhood. Walking alone, I prefer. So no one could disturb me. Sometimes I would spend time on the swing while thingking.

Thanks for your response. It is a good habit to prepare a pen in your hand. Once you come up any ideas from your brain, then you can write it down just in case you forgot it shortly. Concerning the pen, It reminds me one of classmates sitting besides me like to rotate the pen when she is thinking. I hate her behavior as it will divert my attention to her pen.

Amusing topic! I like walking, in fact if I feel bored or upset, walking is a most effective way to relax me, but I don't know whether walking do good to my thought. I just focus on my body and keep my thought from be controlled by unconsciousness, that is to say, as long as we concentrate on our body and enjoy thinking cousciously, the affairs we do can be highly quality.
It's said that a good sleep after a whole night can inspire us thinking. Try it, sasalove, will you?

Yes, I buy that. A sound sleep will help inspire the good thinking. I heard that an scientist came up a great idea after he is having a dream. Sometimes dreams can help us a lot if the unsolved problem occured in the dream.

Probably not, perhaps the guy you mentioned have changed into a handsome guy, who knows!
I think people's apperance or temperament can be changed when the years have elapsed. Transformation is obvious especially when people growes into an adolescent or an adult from a little one, because the changing circumstance and more knowledge he acquires richen and influence him.
If some guy you know earlier takes on a new look, no wonder! just accept it.^-

My habit while thinking is biting my nails. I can't think sometimes while walking. I don't think that's a bad habit and you don't need to get rid of. This is part of my daily routine, biting my nails while thinking.

i'm not walking. when i need to think something serious, i'm just sitting on my chair and looking through the window in my office. Watching the sky outside the window always makes me relax and help me thinking better.
While when i'm home, i used to lay down on my bed and close my eyes. i imagine that i'm watching a beautiful blue sky. that always helps me get a clear mind.

Well, I reminds me one of my friends. He advised to me that if I am unhappy, just looking at the blue sky in the far away place, better in the middle of the night and then take a deep breath towards that directin. Every time when I would like to concentrate on my work in the midnight, I would do so to put my mind together. It did work.
Thanks for your response and happy mylotting.
