This is shocking and abhorrent, if there is anyway of stopping them, including boycotting them, I'd love to hear your opinions.. viewing the footage, and reading the article is enough to turn me off chicken and eggs (admittedly my favourite staples) if it means it gives a voice to these baby chicks...
I can't paste yet as I've only just joined up, so hopefully I'll type in the link right...

Okay..this should be correct, as I've copied and past link to notepad, then split screen to type from there.
But please people, there must be a more humane way for this business to run.
If you especially listen to the footage, it's not just this factory, this practice is normal throughout the industry.
Any useful thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tiger. I've watched the video and of course I am horrified. Do you know if this happens here in Australia? I'd like to think it doesn't.
I only buy certified free range eggs and chickens but now you have posed the question of what happens to the male chicks, and of the cruel treatment to all chicks. The report says this is the most humane form of euthanasia and that is probably true, but it is brutal to say the least. Evidently the female chicks are headed to being caged hens or there would be no need to trim their beaks.

I'm hoping and praying this doesn't happen in Australia.. it's bad enough it happens overseas. But as the narrator says, this is normal practice in the entire industry, so it has me wondering about it now.
I know in the past, we've given power to the people by boycotting goods, if it is happening here in Oz, I'd like to make enough noise so that enough people will boycott the culprits so they could at least modify their equipment to make it more humane (see my answer to previous member)
