hi there!
it would be a lot better if you look at attending classess in a whole new different perspective. you're just losing interest that's why you're skipping. how about if you start asking yourself why you're in school? are you just forced to enroll or was it really your decision to be in school? some students experience the same dilemma as yours. towards the end of every school day, you have yourself to ask the question if staying in the class was a worthwhile experience or just a waste of time. education is expensive. might as well make the most out of it.

actually i'm really confused, i'm 19 and i m gonna complete my engineering almost in 3 months and people here all will complete their undergraduate when they reach 20 or 21...
anyhow in my school days i'm not allowed to skip any classes, we are not allowed to go outside, only in break times we should leave the class and after break gets over we should return to class...we are not allowed to use mobiles in schools and colleges and we don't think of skipping any classes in schools, but i found people skipping classes in my college, even they ll go out of college during the lunch break, this is very common,

I have been a good student way back then. Though there were times that I skip classes but it was just some of those moments where my friends ask me to join them for some outing. It is very important to attend classes and finish our studies considering that education is the key to success. Though there were those lucky ones who have been successful despite not finishing the studies. You will surely have a greater chance of success if you finish and graduate.

I do not think its a right thing to do. I love going to classes and felt that I miss something very important if I don't go. Education in these days are expensive and if you don't go, you miss many things, knowledge, and of course money, because you paid for it. Even if you do not pay for the education yourself, you will wasted it if you do not go. Knowledge are valuables you know, you do not know when you will used the knowledge.

I think I like your ways to go to the library while skip the unvaluable classes. But you have to pass the test, so you can review the course gradually in the library. After reviewing the course, you can read the books you are interested in.I think this method can kill two birds with a stone.

hi,
I am from India and the study load is too much here. Unfortunately we can not skip classes much as we got to have 75% attendance to appear in exam and if we donot have it then we got to repeat one year and the attendance is taken in every class. SO like you have 6 classes
1. English
2. history
3.geography
4.poltical science
5. Hindi
6. Maths
so every class would take say 100 lectures and you have to attened minimum 75 lectures out of 100.. if you cut more than that in any subject you loose on year, so we have to attend a lot of classes even if we donot like it.

Well when I was in high school I would skip classes all the time but my drive in high school was just never really there. I ended up dropping out because nothing there every really interested me or seemed like it served much purpose in my life. Now that I'm ready to start up a college though I have a little bit more motivation because I can actually work on studying towards what I want to learn.

I skipped a whole load of classes in my final year of high school. I dropped a few classes too. I still managed to pass everything and get in to Uni.
I never skipped class until my final year. We were forced into taking classes/subjects we didn't want to fill school rotas. So a lot of people didn't go to certain classes, the teachers weren't all that bothered they wanted to teach the kids who wanted to take that subject and showed up.
However I wish I had maybe went to classes a lot more than I did but I guess it's done now. It was a little silly to skip the classes as much as I did and I wouldn't do it again.

Some use will be there in the classes. You may not know now but you will try to understand one point of time in your life. Each and every classes will teach us something usefull. Without any why they have to waste your valuable time , is that make sense ? Your parents paid fee for the school so i can tell you don't skip the classes, you have something to learn in that class friend..

Oh no. That's so bad. You should not do that again. Skipping classes won't do you any good. You will not learn. Now for you to stop skipping classes you should first motivate yourself. Think of your future or think of your families future. It's also good to have an inspiration. I think that will help you prevent skipping classes in the future. Discipline yourself. :)

Hi, zhangmingyuan,
As a guy having gone through all the school life from high school to college life, I totally don't disagree your behavior of skip classes, please trust me, when you come to the society, you will regret that why I haven't go to class carefully during my school life? you will find that the things you think is not important maybe benefit you a lot in the future, during your time now, you don't have enough experience to specify which class is useful and which is useless, now I think you should try your best to learn more...
of course, the main important things in our school life are how to learn the things by ourself using the exist resource from book, internet even from our failure...so during your class time, maybe you don't need to care the detail knowledge that your teacher said, you just need to know the self-learning method that your teacher said, this is your whole life wealth. thanks and good luck...

once i saw you disscussion title my mind just time traveled back to my high school days. and found myself now smiling while typing this, as i remember i had only attempted once in my life to skip a class, my friend was the one who pulled me into it. and what darn luck it is that we got caught. well actually almost. when from a far we saw my teaching walking in the hall to look for us, we quickly ran and ended up hidding in the boys toilet my first time ever to do that. it was totally memorable for me. i never did it again as i am a scardy cat. but never the less i am happy to reminise the pass.

When I see your discussion, it seems that I have met alter ego.
Yes, I have met a situation that you have just described. From where I stand, the classes are useless for us in the future. So, sometimes, I tend to play with my cellphone or just have a rest. If I hate some teachers, I will skip the class and stay in my dormitory.
Like this, when the final examinations are coming, I will have to cheat in the exams and tests. In order to pass them smoothly, I have to cheat. Happy myLotting!

During my first or second year college, I skip classes but I only do it twice or thrice because I'm afraid to lose some quizzes or recitations because some professors wants to give a surprise quizzes. Even though I'm so sleepy, I still go to my class but sometimes I'm just chatting with my seatmate and not listening to my professor.
