Frozen food, do you like more fresh food or you like frozen food?

I like my foods fresh, not frozen. Freezing does change the flavor or texture. I know they are more convenient, but is it worth the cost, flavor or the nutritional value?
Of course that is more easy to buy food for one week or one month(who live in isolated places), frozen food, and i know that you can keep 6 months in refrigerator this kind of food....but you don t like more fresh food, fresh vegetables or fruits, or fresh meat?

Hi lindie biz: You have mentioned something typical in our culture: time and that at the same time we can't go to the restaurant everyday so we just pick something from our refrigerator for the sake of convenience.

While frozen foods have their place, I prefer fresh foods. Especially for vegetables, the texture, flavor and I believe nutritional value is far better than frozen. I even go a step further and grow my own vegetables whenever I can. Even the fresh veggies you can buy in the store don't compare to what I pick right out of my own back yard. I also seek out locally grown fruits and vegetables whenever possible. The product can be left longer on the plant to ripen and develop more flavor rather than having to be picked early for transport across the country.
I do use some frozen foods though, mainly for convenience. Sometimes I freeze foods that I make in larger batches for later use and some foods freeze better than others. I also believe some foods are just as good having been frozen. I use frozen biscuits, bread and cookie dough and I see no difference in the final cooked product from a batch mixed up fresh.
Overall though, I think fresher is better.

There's nothing like the texture and flavour of fresh meat, but I don't mind buying packages of frozen vegetables. I live in Cyprus, the vegetables I buy here don't last very long, so I keep some frozen vegetables stocked up in the freezer so that I have something to cook when I don't have time to go the grocery store or when I'm really not in the mood to go shopping:P

My husband and I keep some decent frozen meals in the freezer for when we want to prepare a full meal quickly, but we eat a lot of fresh food too, which we prefer. We live right nextdoor to a wonderful Farmer's Market, so every Saturday he goes out and buys fresh meat, produce, cheese, and eggs for the week.

Hi icesmile!
I prefer fresh food!
Frozen fruits and vegetables are quick and easy to use. Some say that some have just as much nutritional value as fresh, while others give you that mushy and unappetizing result. In the case of frozen meat and baked goods, the quality of is generally good, if you wrap them properly. That is why we have to be very careful in our choices of food.

Most of the time if i buy fresh produce some ends up getting frozen anyway. I read the frozen fish is actually fresher than fresh fish in the meat counters. Because its frozen soon after getting caught. The fresh stuff was shipped from where it was caught then in the meat case till somebody comes along to buy it. So by the time you are looking at the fresh fish sign its already old.

I prefer fresh food to frozen food, but there are times when you cannot get something fresh at a reasonable price. THen I buy the food frozen. It happens here with corn kernels. I ise them for a lot of dishes yet they can be bought fresh dyring Summer and part of Autumn.

I like fresh food, especially fresh vegetables. At my home we cook a lot of vegetables. My favourite vegetables are mushroom, tomato, green pepper and carrot. It’s very good vegetable for our body. Last night I did steam dumplings that had beef and carrot; my husband said it’s really delicious. I also love onion. I believe onion will help me having low blood pressure and lose weight. These five kinds of vegetables are always in my fridge. We never lack of them. We also have broccoli and cauliflower often. Just for change we have celery, swede, parsnip and Chinese leaves.

I like both fresh and frozen food just depends on what it is. I do like frozen corn or pea they have a good taste to them. I buy some meat and put in the freeze so I will not have to go to the store everyday to get something for dinner. The fresh food I like is lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and fresh fruit.

I will love to have my food fresh too.. however at times that I am unable to get fresh food from the wet market daily, I will buy for a couple of days and chilled in the freezer.. I seldom buy those frozen pre-prepared food, as I have concerns of the ingredient being added into the preparation process.

I love frozen food--as in frozen entrees, pizza, chicken nuggets, french fries...I could probably live off of only frozen foods.
I hate cooking, especially meats, so I use frozen food in place of it. Sometimes I'll have pre-cooked frozen meat, other times, I might have raw, but cleaned up or pre-portioned meats, which is easier to fix than the meat you have to cut yourself.
When it comes to vegetables, I'd rather have canned than frozen or fresh. My ears are sensitive, so the running water from the faucet bothers me, so I can't clean the vegetables. And the frozen ones don't taste as good (sometimes). So canned veggies are the best option for me.

I very rarely eat frozen vegetables now, as we tend to buy organic ones. They are a bit more expensive, but more nutritional. When we had lots of vegetables in our garden, we froze quite a lot, but from what I understand, many of the nutrients are destroyed in the freezing process. So we stopped freezing them and was giving a lot of them away, as there were too many just for us to eat. We buy meat unfrozen and quite often freeze it, because it doesn't lose it's nutrients like vegetables.. I think! - Derek

I used to eat a lot of frozen food, that was during the days when I had a decent sized freezer! Now I have one of those small fridges with something like an icebox at the top, not very convenient for storing frozen food! I'm very bad in that I don't eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables either and I'm sure that this will affect my health in the long term. As I only have a small ice box I like to make sure that I keep some ice cream in there! Andrew

Hi,
Not only you or me, everyone loves to eat fresh foods. However, certain circumstances make people eat frozen food. When people go to foreign countries for work, it is not necessary that everyone should know cooking or will be able to eat outside daily. In such a case, frozen food comes as a boon to them.
