When I spotted my first grey hair my instant reaction was I was depressed and almost went to pluck it but heard someone say that if I did that the next day I will find two and so I left it there! Do share your stories.

I didn't find it. Someone else did for me. That's embarrassing! I can't remember if I plucked it out or left it there. Since then I have a few more. But they are always here & there. I just leave them there. It's part of growing older and part of life. I'm a redhead & I hear that redheads get a real mousey color to them as they grey. So we'll see if I end up dying my hair later on!

The salt and pepper look does add to ones dignity but not when there is more salt and less pepper (lol) as in my case and so I dye my hair with a Garnier dark brown which looks natural and lasts for about 3 months.

I'm 40 now and I found them about two years ago. But I knew it would be early cuz my dad went grey when he was in his thirties. I usually dye it cuz I don't want to look old at 40. But grey hair doesn't hold color well and I usually have to redye it every two or three months. I have five kids so I know that has contributed to the color change!

Atleast you can point out who is responsible (lol). But these days we are lucky in that there are safe and natural colours available.

Are we not glad that these days we have colours that look so natural and safe too!

I was 22 when I seen my first...patch of grey hair. My parents said that it was genetic, and not to freak out about it. In all honesty, I thought that it was hilarious. I know in the end my hair is going to go grey, no matter what age I am. I tried to cut the patch off, but yeah, don't give me a pair of scissors to cut my hair. It didn't go too good. :)

Seems like you have learnt to accept life as you now say you dont have any grey hair. 17 is a bit too early though.

I think having grey hair is hereditary. On my mom's side, they had grey hair even if they were still very young. Me, too I had it in my early twenties. I didn't notice it though, a close friend had seen it, plucked it and showed it to me. Too bad, I inherited my mom's genes not that of my father's. On my father's side, they don't have grey hair even if they were already old. My late aunt, who was the older sister of my father was already very old that time, yet you can't see even a single grey hair from her. Well, right now I'm dying my hair. I have no choice. I don't want to look that old. I guess, I still can't accept it.

Actually, my teenage daughter pointed out to me. She just kept counting the grey hair, which sometimes irritates me. Like others, my family too has problem having grey hair at young early age, in their late 30s. My younger sis, in her mid 30s, already covered with grey hair. I am lucky though, but I try to take it easy though. Don't let grey hair spoil your mood.
