You can do it here in the US if you get a special connector thing to make it like this, but most of us if we want to drink this type of water we have to buy it from somewhere.

Most of us do it here in the U.S. but I'm sure there are still some places, way out in the country, where they still use pumps.
However, our water often smells like sulphur and, although it is okay to drink, I just don't like the thought of it. Also, we have well water and can't be too sure about bacteria getting into it. We chlorinate the well a couple of times a year to kill any bacteria that may have contaminated it but I still don't like the idea so I have a water filter pitcher that I use for drinking water. We also have filtered water from our refrigerator.
I don't like the idea of buying those small bottles of water. They cost too much for just water and the bottles harm the environment because I've seen a lot of them end up in garbage cans instead of recycling centers. I always take anything recycleable to the recycling center and wish everyone else would, too.
The house I moved from, before living here, had tap water that was good to drink. It was treated with chlorine so we knew it was not loaded with bacteria.
We do have a whole-house water filter here but I still prefer to use the pitcher to further filter it, just to be sure.

Hi Raclie,
We don't do that here in Malaysia. Most homes here have some kind of water treatment system installed. There are times I can smell rust and visibily can see the tap water is yellowish.
If you ever cross the straits for vacation, holiday or visits - don't just drink water from the tap.
