The answer to the following question may seem obvious at first but please stop and think about it.
When you are driving, to the store or across country, do you feel confident that your driving ability will avoid any possibility of an accident?
If you answer YES, please stop and think about it for just a little longer.
If you answer NO, why?

I have only been driving now for a short time and i feel confident about my driving ability. I keep my attention on what im doing at all times. And do not try to do other things while im driving like talk on phone, or fidget with the radio.

Thank you very much for responding to this. It would seem this question was too simple, or too involved for people to take interest.
I do appreciate you taking the time to respond to it. I personally feel as you do that you must always be on guard and alert as most accidents are caused by someone not paying attention to what they are doing.
The sad part, and the one we must always be on the lookout for is the other person who is not that responsible. We all know of times when we place our very lives in the trust that they will not pull out at the very last minute because we have no choice but to hit them. Or the person changing lanes without looking.
In today's world we don't have to be the one that is not paying attention because there are too many others that are not.
Thank you again.
