She just never gets tired of running

Loren Legarda just announced her bid for the Vice-presidency yesterday at a rally in Rizal Park. This would be her 2nd time to run for the same position. She said she is just heeding the call of the people for her to run again.. Now she did not say who will be her running mate, but we all know that it would be a Chiz-Loren tandem... I'm just saying, doesn't she ever get tired of running for office? It's like Jamby Madrigal, who time and again, runs for presidency, but we all know that she will never win.. I don't think she doesn't know it.. that's why I don't understand why she keeps on doing the same thing over and over again... Going back to Loren, I don't think she'll win this time. And I think if that happens, she will once again ask for a recount, and would shell out millions of pesos just to count the ballots again. Would you vote for her in the coming elections? And what do you think is the reason why she didn't win last time?

Hi there! First of all, its not only Loren nor Jamby who is very persistent on running for some sits in our government over and over again. Mainly I think is that it's their political ambition that really drives them to pursue it. She lacks of compassion to people I might say. I mean I like her being a broadcaster but not as a politician. Politician who are there because of their ambition and not because of their desire to help people will not really be a good servant. And admit it or not she is not. That is why you are right in saying she will never win.

Yep, I agree with you, Loren and Jamby are only two of the many who never get tired of running for public office... I also think she lacks the sincerity and the compassion. I think just by looking at her, you can see that the sincerity in helping our country is really missing..

I couldn't agree more. That is why they never win on the election. People can see their lack of compassion and plain insincerity. No wonder, Philippine government always fail to make our nation better is because most politicians are self centered and corrupt.

I don't know why they still want to run even if they keep losing in the past elections. They have interest for sure why they keep running for the same position. They going to waste money because I'm sure they going to lost again.

Loren Legarda has a good reputation in all aspect that I see in her political careers. I don't see any hindrances for her to win this coming elections because all of the aspiring candidates for vice-presidency. Only Mar Roxas is the strongest personality she face in that day...Puno is decline and I don't know if Willie Revillame will pursue also in that career...? The reason is that she run in the wrong time. Because her opponent is kabayan de castro where we know in that day kabayan is being love by many...

You have a point there, but I do think there is a small chance that she would be backing out from this elections.. She may even change the position she's running for, since Chiz has resigned from their political party..

so would you vote for her this coming elections? I can see that some still likes her, because she has a good reputation when she was still a journalist, and she brought that to the senate...

hello Ingkingderdes, she can keep on trying anyway, till such time that she will win. as the saying goes "try and try until you succeed." no, i will not vote for her. she maybe good but i don't think she will win for 2010 election again. though, i must admit that i voted her during the last election. she lost before maybe because people like someone who has a strong personality. someone who can represent the poor and will fight for them. whatever....

why are you not voting for her now? do you have other candidates that you would pick over her? .. I just wish that we would have better choices for the VP position. Until now, i really don't like any of those running..

Because she sucks! Really, I am wondering the same thing too, why she and Jamby Madrigal never realize that we people don't like to put them in the position??? Maybe because we know their intention and we can see it.

Hehehe. On her speech, she said that she is just heeding the call of the people... And I thought, where are those people?! I want to see them!... Maybe she really thinks that she lost last time because Noli pulled some strings during the count... If she loses again this coming election, maybe that would make her realize that the VP position is not really for her.

I think she was referring to her amigas, her sons, her ex-husband, and her cameraman. haha!!! Even ABS-CBN didn't support her 100% last election, they're more on Kabayan Noli...

I will not vote for her. Maybe the people did not like her that's why she failed to win over VP De Castro. Well, goodluck to her and to all the "tra-pos"

I hope our countrymen would learn from our past mistakes on voting the trapos.. I sure pray that all of us would think a hundred times over on whose names are we going to shade in the upcoming elections ( Just like the board exams, think twice before shading. )... The future of our country depends on it. let's all vote wisely.

Personally, I would, she has the qualifications, she has track records to show of what have accomplished so far. Being a journalist made her even more qualified. I think she's more capable than our incumbent VP, although I'm not saying kabayan has not done anything good but Loren I think could do more. For the longest time, people has been talking about a politician's qualification as one of the main reasons why one should vote for that person, I think Loren is a classic example of what a qualified politician should have. Although there things a politician must do, that to a layman may be inappropriate but that's politics. Cheers!

Hi ybong! Well, I surely get your point on her qualifications... But for me, it just seems like I don't see the sincerity in her.. I really have no idea why.. There are just some people that when I look at, I can already see if I like them or not, and she is on the not liked list.. hehehee. Though I'm not saying that I am right. People have their own opinions. So you would be voting for her and chiz?

Maybe it's her eyebrows, it could be a little too high LOL. I don't usually pass judgement to peoples looks since to me it's very deceiving, just look at Erap, a classic example. But we can't really help it, first impressions you know... But I tend to look at the qualifications and what had been accomplished so far other wise will be run by actors and actresses, except Vilma Santos of course! Cheers!

To answer your question, I would give her my vote. As for Chiz? no, I'd rather go for Noynoy (for the sake of the late Cory) or Gibo. Chiz to me seems to delve more on the negative of his opponents, what has he done so far? I don't have any idea...I don't have anything against the younger generations joining politics, as a matter of fact I'm all for it but I need the qualifications first and accomplishments second. Those two qualifications are the most important to me because we're talking here of the presidency, if it's for Barangay Chairman I'm willing to let go of either one. Cheers!

Yeah I guess she is still young and has many opportunity to ran again and again. This time would I vote for her. I don't think so, I have my bet right now but I will still have to wait and see what happens in the future I might still change my mind if there is new developments that comes in the near future but as of now, I am convince not to vote her unless she can really prove to me she deserves to be the VP.

yep, she still is young, and I doubt that this will be the last election that we'll be seeing her. Plus, she has a lot of money, so financial backup is really not a problem for her.

I wouldn't vote for Loren Legarda even if she is the only candidate to run for the position... i don't feel her sincerity and i think she is only doing this to appease her pride... because she believe she was cheated of the Vice-President position during the last election... As for Jamby Madrigal... she should be declared as a nuisance candidate is ever she runs... the only way she could win is through big time cheating... which she wouldn't be able to hide... maybe somebody is paying her to run...

I agree with you on all points!! I wouldn't be voting for her either even if she is the only candidate running for vice-presidency.. I just don't like her.

Really? Again? I haven't seen the news lately. well, she isn't tired of running in these elections. Most people who are ambitious enough to land a seat in the Senate, Congress or the palace aren't tired of running. Only the people who are seeing the same faces, same promises, same style of platform, same everything are tired of them. I think Loren will just have to content herself with being a senator and focus on the environmental issues which she advocates. Running for Vice or President is not for her. She's not Presidentiable material. Don't these kind of people never learn? That the people don't like them.

I agree. I also think that the VP and the President position is not for her.. I mean, she was actually planning on running for the presidential position before the whole noynoy aquino thing happened... I don't have any idea what are the thoughts that is going through her mind.. Does she really think that she can be the next president of the Philippines?

yeah you are right, loren will never win again this time, since roxa-aquino tandem seems the most popular these days... and if ever she won't win again, then she would insist that the election wasn't fair from other regions like hat she had done last election when she never won.
• Philippines
25 Oct 09
Yep.. that's what I'm betting on.. she would again challenge the results of the election ( if she loses ) and I'm sure she'd be willing to do the count all over again just to prove her point ( which didn't happen the last time )..

hello Ingking, You know it was really succeeded being in the senatorial winner, a lot of people were actually assuming she would run the presidency someday but of course, she had this script of thinking she wouldn't run yet, but then after the shift of candidates in the Election, she went back for the VP candidacy again. well, if she wants to waste money on the recount if she loose, then that's her stupidity. good luck to all voters out there
• Philippines
25 Oct 09
hehehe. Well, you have a point, cause it's her money anyway.. but it's just painful to see a lot of money going to waste because one person cannot accept defeat..

I think she has deluded herself into believing that because she ends up on top of senatorial races means that she will win other public offices. She has also deluded herself into thinking that the reason she lost to Noli was because she was cheated. But then again I think that people who run for public office are deluded...

Hahahahah! they are all crazy.. that's what I've been telling myself. lol. I think it is only her ego that is bruised from the last elections, plus the recount that is pushing her to run again. Maybe she wants to prove that she can win the seat, no matter what the cost is.

But that is a lot of money for an ego being bruised. And that means she is thinking of her own pride rather than people who might need her service. Many politicians became self centered nowadays thus, we seldom get a good public servant for our nation.

She was a TV personality before and her fame almost had the same publicity with Noli De Castro. I think the confidence is somewhat because of her popularity then. I know she is a strong woman but most of us are not impressed by her achievements and her service.

Yep. I have no doubt that she is a strong woman. For her to be still at the top of the senate.. well, that says a lot..
