http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/10/23/russia.skating.bear.death/index.html?eref=rss_topstories ...maybe it's just me.. but if I were a bear, I'd be furious if someone puts ice skates on me too... hell.. I'm HUMAN and don't wear skates!!!Yeh.. sorry for the guy that died... but don't think this show was a good idea, and don't like the idea that there are supposedly 'wild' animals still in circuses!

The last sentence in that report: "Russia has a long-standing tradition of training bears to perform tricks such as riding motorcycles, ice skating, and playing hockey. Fatal attacks are unusual." Animal trainers tell us that the animals ENJOY doing these tricks, but maybe this one didn't. I believe wild animals belong in the wild, but part of me is pleased that there are places where we can see and admire wild animals without going to the jungles. I guess the main thing is the treatment the animals receive and the quality of life they have, including their environment. While zoos can cater to their needs, at least to an extent, I don't think circuses can. A wild animal isn't meant to be kept in a cage.

Thanks for the best response, Tiger, but might I suggest that it is usual to wait at least a week before giving a best response? This is very early and you might receive much better responses in the next few days.
