Of all the books that has been written since the world began, The Bible has been the most consistent in terms of history, teachings, doctrines and mysteries.
Do you believe in the Bible's teachings? There are lots of self-proclaimed Christian ministries all over the world that does not really uses the Bible as its regular basis. Christians should use the Bible to teach doctrines based on it. It is where they can find the teachings and doctrines of Jesus Christ but they don't really read them in their preachings. Basis-wise, they should use it.
There is a Christian movement here in the Philippines that uses the Bible as its regular handbook. They read it. They preach the doctrines in it. They live what's written in there. I believe in them. I should because I have heard their leader at work. He preaches using the Bible. People can ask about anything related in the Bible and he can answer all of them, and his answers are all based in the Bible also. There is a very undeniable fact on what he's telling. No ministers of other religions can fight with him in a debate. There is really power on what he says. He is a modern-day wise man.
Do you believe in the Bible? Why? Why not?
How can you defend your answer?

If Christians believe in Bible fully, they can't be Christians. And if they agree with OT they will be like Jews.
If you are ok to debate as you asked, I'm ready

Christ himself quoted teachings, specially prophecies of the Old Testament. So it follows that if you are a Christian, you must also look back and read the Old Testament. You can't fully understand the Bible and its teachings if you'd only choose to read a book, or a chapter or a verse from it.
An analogy of this is, you need to learn elementary arithmetic before you go to advance mathematics.

Is this a premise question to debate me?
Yes. I do believe in both of them. Because it was written through the chosen prophets and teachers and people of God since time immemorial.

Can't you be a free thinker and not believe in the Bible?

No, I do not believe in the Bible because I have full freedom not to believe in it.
God himself never appeared in front of me and told me that Bible is his word. So, I am under no obligation to believe. Furthermore, God has given me a questioning spirit. So, it is my duty to my god that I question about not only Bible, but any other thin under the sun.

Hello Frederick42.
Faith is something you believe in without any proof that can be sensed. Why would God Himself would appear to you if you don't believe in His words in the first place.
Its like someone you know have sent you a letter through postal mail. You received his mail but you don't believe that that letter came from him because he did not send it himself.
Well, its your choice anyways. Just think. If you think you are thinking... well think some more. Maybe you can find some more logic behind your logic now.

I think The Bible does have some valuable lessons that we can learn from, but I don't believe some of the things that are written in them. But then again, I might believe it if I see something similar happen in real-life, or I feel something. It'll depend on how much one can relate with it, I think. But for the most part, I can't say I believe in everything the bible says.
