I want the good times to go slow. It seems as I grow older time has speeded up considerably. It bums me out too. Too fast. I want more time! Slow it on down there Father Time.

Time does seem to speed up when you are enjoying yourself. And can be terribly slow
when having to do something unpleasant. All thanks to the wonderful human brain.
I have learned to speed it up when needed but not to slow it down. Good times still go by in a flash.

It's very easy just remember you are in charge of your mind and set your attention on something that is fun. If you're waiting in hospital or doctor's office, don't dwell on the reason, become aware of the people around and make up stories about them. If you know that you have to go through a painful experience, focus on a treat after it. I had an 18 hour labor that was very painful, Every time a new pain came, I told myself in 24 hours I am going to have a beautiful baby and I would make pictures in my mind as strong as possible, this did make the time go faster. I just kept telling myself I can stand this because of the reward. Of course use your common sense migraine needs a pain pill.

seems like its all in about if your having fun.. if you are having fun you dont notice time or are watching the clock where as if you are miserable you are probably looking at the clock or something so it feels like it takes longer.. annoying isnt it??

Good time passes very quickly and we keep enjoying in happy moments and do nt care about time. I would like my happy moments to pass gradually.

"Time flies when your having fun."
Trite, but true. Time actually doesn't change, just you perception of it.
One can wish that the fun thing would last forever, but all things end, and because you are giving it your full attention, it seems to move swiftly. But when you are clock watching, then you notice how time is dragging. Since you are not fully engaged in what you are doing, it seems to crawl along.
Pity that, I used to listen to audio books at work and let me tell you, some of those days flew along at a great clip!

I so wish that the clock ticks slowly when I am into something that I enjoy most but it seems that the world is moving very fast and soon we will be celebrating christmas which means we will be entering into a new calender year.

Hi riya
It is true that good things will end soon. It is the rule of the nature. May be bad things also end soon but nobody notice it. If we are happy we don’t want to finish it and felt that the length is very short and in other case we want to end the sad phase soon and felt it is too long.
The statement is very worthy, ‘every act got an equal and opposite reaction’. It means our wish is not considered here and everything will go on…..

riyasam hi yes it seems to be a rule of nature that when
we are having fun, time flies but when we are in pain
or unhappy over something time seems to go so sl o o ow.
I have no idea why this happens but it seems to happen
to us all. I would love to have time really slow down
when I am having a good time. specially when my son comes
to see me, I would like it to slow down a bit.

Yes when we do enjoy something it is as if time is too short. Like when we go outing with our family and enjoying the day with them. It is as if the day ends so fast while when we are bored with something we do, like when we are in our job and doing hard as assignment, it is as if it takes forever. Of course I would want my enjoyable moments to last longer my friend but life is not always enjoyment, there are really boring or hard times too!

Hello my friend riyasam Ji,
In fact, what you feel is a part of Natural phenomena, during any problem, time becomes so long that it is very difficult to pass taht time. But on the otehr hand our golden time of youth passes without our knowledge, as we both feel during this old age of 65/72. We try to simulate condions of 40 yrs back, when we got married. When we recollect, it looks as if it was yesterday. Time has passed. If taht happens, we should thank God taht we have traveeled a far distance in our life.
May God bless You and have a great time.

I think I prefer it to have fast fun. Even if it would seem like it ended fast, I would be satisfied. I would be satisfied that I had good amount of fun.

Well it is the fact that the things we enjoy the most seem to make us the time they consume and make us feel that they go away fast.We forget time when we indulge in something we like and enjoy the most.On the other hand the gloomy situations even if they take a short time it takes our attention of getting it out of our life counting the seconds. That is why they are so lengthy.
Like all the others I do love the funny parts last longer.I am no different from others.

It all depends on what it is that I'm doing! Some things are fun BECAUSE it's a quick rush, but others are things that you really do like to kick back and enjoy as long as possible. Being on a beach for example is something fun that I'd like to last for as long as possible, but I can only handle so much time at once on a roller coaster ride! I agree totally that things we don't like drag on forever at times and vice versa too. Jeez, I wish working weeks would fly past as fast as holiday weeks seem to!

When I'm having fun, I want it to last of course! Things I don't enjoy have my permission to pass quickly. :-)
