Do you decorate your own house

I am far too much of a tightwad to pay someone else to do something I enjoy doing for myself and I probably do a better job of than they would, so again my answer is no.

I do all of my work for my homemyself if at all possible. I do hire other people to do the things I cannot do myself though. My husband and I usually do our own projects together though.

My house is so small. We do have many furniture , appliances occupied the size of our house. We seldom decorate it. It looks boring, yes it is true. If we can move to a bigger house that will be the time that we can decorate it. We put some Christmas decorations just to be in with the season, just to feel it. But other than that we can afford because of limited space.

Hello jj. We had our house decorated by paying professionals for it this summer vacation. It cost us a lot. If I could do it, I would have done it by myself to save some money.

I wouldn't call what I do "decorating"! I don't have much creativity when it comes to that but I would love to have someone decorate my house. As you said, though, they are too expensive. I do plan to do some interior painting next year, though. The former owner of this house was told to paint it all white inside and he painted over the wallpaper!! My house is 85 years old and I would have loved to have the wallpaper instead of white walls. Of course, the realtor and owner had no idea they would get such an oddball to buy the house.

hi jugsjugs when we had our own house I was the decorator and the painter,and the workhorse along side my husband. I enjoyed painting so much and making new draperies. Yes to hire a decorator would have been out of the question for us as we did not have a lot of money so we spent it on paint and fabric instead. We had fun doing this too. I have always enjoyed painting and it does change the looks of a room so much.

I always decorate for myself and down through the years I have learned some interesting decorating tips. Like where to hang pictures and far up or down the wall. And I really enjoy the way the place takes shape and the compliments I get from neighbors, friends and family.

Hey jugs! I do my own decortating in my house! There a some things that I can't do, and for those things I need someone to help! Like I really want to have my old carpet taken up and maybe get the floors redone. I can do my own painting. I love to redo and repaint furniture! I really enjoy fixing things and refinishing them! And I love decorating! My friends sometimes ask me to help them when they are trying to decorate their own homes and I love to help them too!

I have always decorated my own home, I went to art school for a time and always had my own ideas, no one has ever said to much about it so I don't think I could do this for others and get paid or anything like that.

Both me and my husband do all the repairs, painting, and decorating that goes on at our house. and i have to admit that my husband is a much better decorator than i am.

I have decorated my house three times, and every time I have done it myself. Luckily I grew up with a Grandpa who was a carpenter so I can do a lot of stuff on my own so I don't have to pay someone to do it.

I decorate the house. If my husband is lucky sometimes I let him help me out. My husband is not really into home decorating. The only time of the year my husband will decorate is the day after Thanksgiving. He loves Christmas. Also, I feel that decorating myself gives me freedom and independence. I like painting and picking out the colors I want. I also agree that it is expensive to hire a decorator.

I guess you mean redecorate as you've mentioned painting. My husband and I don't have our own place yet, but I'm pretty certain we'd be doing our own painting etc. I have an uncle that does that sort of stuff, but he charges a lot of money, though I don't know what his rate would be for just one room.
