These two fine cuisines are what I crave for when I go out. Well, I eat Filipino dishes at home already so I want to try something else.
Japanese food: I love sushi, tuna sashimi, california maki and the hot wasabi! Yum! At first I didnt like it when my dad brought some of it at home, because the wasabi sauce is gonna crawl up your nose you cant breathe properly! haha! But I loved it the next time I ate some. I also like Takoyaki balls. Yakiniu is also one of my favorite. There's this restaurant that my family loves to go to where they have a hot plate in the middle of the table so you will have to be the one to cook your yakiniku. Yum!
Chinese food: My family goes to a Chinese restaurant near our place and we always go there during special occasions. The hot yang chow rice, and what we love are the dimsums! Pancit Canton and Noodles are also the best!
How about you my dear friends, which of the two are your favorite? Or the most you like? =)

I am in the USA, so the names of the food I am going to list are most likely Americanized.
Chinese - Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken and Brocolli, sweet and sour chicken (it comes with red sweet and sour sauce)
Japanese - California Roll, Chicken Teriyaki plate with mixed vegetables.

I was hungry when responding to this, but now it's only been a few minutes and I'm not as hungry, I guess because I know I will be eating soon.

Hi redphile, I would choose JAPANESE, definitely. There's also this restaurant in Macapagal Avenue called Yakimix. They also have a hot grill in the middle of the table. They have sirloin, steak, squid, bacon, sausages and lots more. They also have sushi, makis and tempura... and all of these are EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN for Php600. If ever you would want to eat there, better go there early because there's always a long line. With Chinese food, you can never go wrong with it. I always eat at Mr. Choi for dimsum and Emerald for seafood. :)) YUM! This discussion is making me hungry.

Btw, there's also a hotpot restaurant near Yakimix. The owners of the restaurants are one and the same. It's also eat-all-you-can for Php499! :)) The ingredients for the hotpot are on a conveyor belt which makes it kinda cool. Haha! :)) You can choose from a number of soup bases as well. A definite must try!

I like more of the Chinese food if compared to Japanese food! Hehehe! I like pancit, siomai, siopao, dimsums, dumplings, chicken feet, steamed foods and of course, noodles. On the other hand, some of Japanese foods which i like are sushi, teriyaki, steamed fishes, tempura, yaki udon, maki, takuyaki balls. I dont know about sashimi, i am not so fond of eating raw foods dipped in sauces. So as for me, Chinese foods score more than Japanese cuisine. :-)

You know I really like both Japanese & Chinese food so that would be hard to decide. However, I'd probably say Japanese because I find it tends to be lighter, does not usually have MSG (I've been told). I like everything from salmon sashimi with edamame and miso soup, to yakitori, and many of those rolls. For Chinese food, we only tend to go a few times a year. I suppose it's because it's quite filling and rich and therefore when we go, we'll eat a big meal and then want to hibernate afterwards! However I like just about all Asian food because of the diversity of different flavors of it I find.

Thats true! In a chinese restaurant, you have to have an empty stomach because its gonna be full once you leave the place! They serve in big servings, like for the whole family. While with Japanese, its like finger foods though there is rice but its not that heavy in your stomach. =)

Not so much with Japanese foods. But Chinese, oh, we all love it. That is where my children and I usually go. We just love it because it won't take long to get your orders and for you to begin eating. In a Chinese restaurant we frequently visit, they have these food carts that go around for you to just choose what you want. We love steamed rice, plain shaomai, quail egg shaomai, spring rolls, pinchers, sweet and sour fish, sweet and sour chicken, egg roll, cabbage roll, chicken feet, mixed vegetables and a lot lot more that we like. And, we just love their desserts there.

I love chinese food. And, I love japanese food. Japanese food is way more expensive; and therefore, I have it less often. Chinese food is cheaper and I can have that more. I think japanese food is better and a big reason is how often I have it.

i like chinese and japanese food, but i prefere the second, yesterday evening i ate sushi at my girlfriend house, it was made with tuna and salmon. i love sushi and other japanese foods like tempura, and some soups. Like 2 month ago it was opened a new japanese restourant, not so far from my home, but i've never been on it; i would like to go there next month. I go to the chinese restourant about 2-3 times per month, i like chinese food, expecially things with the bittersweet souce, like shrimps, chiken and the "dragon clouds".

I prefer japanese food than chinese food. Chinese food uses a lot of MSG in all their food preparations in restaurants. Japanese food are more tastier especially the sushi , sashimi with wasabi. That was my favourite and nothing can beat that. The fried shrimps, teriyaki chicken or beef are my favourites too. Im getting hungry now after I wrote this.

Both are pretty great, but I think that I have to go with Japanese because I believe that it is healthier than Chinese. This is just my opinion, but I notice that with Japanese food I tend to weigh less than I do with Chinese.
I love Filipino food as well. Pancit Canton and Noodles are so good. My cousins are Filipino and man when they have a big family dinner, they go all out and their food is so delicious.
Darn it, I LOVE ASIAN FOOD!

I like them both as I like Filipino foods. I really cannot compare the two because they differ in some sense and style. When choosing what food to eat at a certain time , I solely depend on my mood on that definite time.

Japanese food is more raw food than the Chinese foods. And Chinese foods are more on Veggies. I love Chinese food than the Japanese and because it is more adopted in our family.
My aunt will cook for me the Maki and the tuna sashimi dip into the hot wasabi. It really crawl up into the nose.
But I love to eat fried rice, siomai, siopao cantons and noodles, chinese lumpia and stirred fried veggies and more.
