I recently posted a topic about me starting out with scuba diving. Now I have finally earned my scuba diving license. It was really a wonderful feeling getting the license. I really had a wonderful time and will surely be diving from time to time. Actually, diving was not one of my interest. But after taking a discovery dive, it change my mind and then I decided to continue... How about you, are you interested in scuba diving?

scuba diving with family - our family during the scuba diving
It was really fun and enjoyable. I had to admit that I was hesitant at first. But after the first dive, everything was really great and amazing. I guess most of us is just afraid to give it a try most especially if you do not know how to swim. But the fact is, you do not need to know how to swim when you dive. It is much easier than swimming and trying to stay afloat and not drown. I am planning to take more pictures next time of the life and beauty underwater... If you have the time, you should give it a try. The picture here shows me my wife and my nephew and niece together with our instructor. I would love to let my son join the fun but he is still 6 years old so is not allowed to dive yet.

Hi Cheiyen, I do agree with you. I started out with fun diving and later on got hooked. It is really fun. Come to think of it, the earth is made up of 70 percent water. So what we see in land is just 30 percent of the whole. By going scuba diving, we get to see the rest. I do hope that you will be able to obtain a diving license later on and be able to dive from time to time.

I have always loved to go to scuba diving but never really had the chance because of reasons such as financial difficulties, less opportunities and time constraints. The closest I got of looking the real beauty under water was during a glass buttom ride. Its like a mini boat where part of the floor is a glass and during the tour you could actually see the corals and the colorful fishes that goes with it. I was amazed to see corals that look like mountains underwater and fishes that I never thought existed. What I sight to remember. But all the while I kept wondering what it is like looking at it while scuba diving, perhaps theres more beauty in it. I never had the experience to go scuba diving. But if given the chance I'd definitely go for it. There have been invites that require a lesser pay. You know that these dives are very expensive in resorts. But I happen to know somebody who offers a lesser fee and I mean way lesser than those offered in beach resorts. The schedule have not been fixed yet but hopefully it will push through.

Hi renzoray, It is really great to go diving. I have tried riding a glass bottom boat. It is great. But such view is quite different from what you see underwater when you go scuba diving. I know you will be able to dive later on and I guarantee you that it will be a great and unforgettable experience.

What are the things needed to get started in scuba diving?

Well, for you to start with scuba diving you need to have the scuba diving gears. They are quite expensive. But most often, your instructor will provide you with the things you need upon starting out. Usually it is part of the package when you start with a scuba diving lesson for licensing. Of course it involves money.. The good thing is that there were 6 of us together taking the course. So, I was able to obtain a discount considering that getting a license for scuba diving is quite expensive.

Hi sir Jonathan. Thank you for the information about this page.I heard you went scuba diving in Cebu. I thought the pictures you showed us were just from the internet. I don't have any experience with scuba diving, but I think it is a very good hobby if you have the resources.

Hi jp, I am glad to have found you here. Indeed scuba diving is really fun and exciting. It is also a good way to relax. That is why, despite my heavy schedule, as long as I am free and have the time, I always find time to dive with my friends. Well, people say that it is indeed expensive, but I do have some friends who help me out, this is what makes my diving affordable...

Congratulations, that is tremendous! That is like a dream come true, huh? I think it would be a lot of fun to scuba dive. But I don't even know how to swim! I don't live around water, I wasn't even born around a lot of water. There is no ocean near me, or lakes (closest lake is about 50 miles away)...But it certainly sounds fun.

Its is really fun indeed. Actually you really do not need to know how to swim in order for you to do scuba diving. I guess the hindrance for you is the distance. Well, I do hope that someday you will be able to try. It is really wonderful under the sea...

Yes, snorkling is also fun and very enjoyable. I tried it before. In fact this is the reason why I tried scuba diving since I wanted to go deeper and see the view from deep down. Perhaps you should try scuba diving later on. I am sure that you will also find it great.
