celebrities in ads

What's your opinion about celebrities in ads like coke, pepsi? They know its not advisable to drink just bcoz the company pays them gross and the ad gets often screened do they do this? They are public figures and people out there r sometimes crazily following them without even thinking. when they have an influence of that sort is it not their responsibility to be choosy and support something which is at the least not harm full? And again there are ad's where they treat girls as if they are just a glam dolls or less worthy person and the guy is the big boss kind of stuff. That's really not fair. What's your opinion?
