Now a days all are having a mobile phone and they really don't need a landline connection. But i feel that we should have one landline connection also. coz if the signals are not there, we have to go out of our house and converse. if the weather is normal then it is OK. But if it is raining and we need to call somebody very urgently and the signals are not there inside the house, then it is a problem. so i think we should have one landline connection also. Friends what do you think. Is landline phone is necessary? Do you have any landline connection at home?

Why? is it expensive having a landline phone in your country or call charges or dearer? For us, we need to pay 500 INR per month. 1$ is approx equals to 45INR, which includes both for broadband as well as landline rentals per month and we get 175 calls free for landline, and 1.5 download limit free for internet every month.

Hi vathsala aunty,
Ofcourse we should have a landline at home, though we have mobile. Sometimes the signals would not be there or the network would have been jammed. so though we have mobiles its necessary to have a landline at home.

Hi Deepa
Yes by experience, i came to know that, it is a must. because most of the times, the server problems and the signal problems will be there. So landline is my best choice. Some times we can't hear clearly if we converse in the cell phone. But landline is always clear.

Very true. We must have a landline. When all of us in our house got mobiles, I told my husband that we will surrender the land line. My husband said it is always good to have a land line. When signals are not proper, we have to go out and talk. Not only rain is a botheration but nosy neighbours will be waiting outside to get gossip. They will listen to our conversation in a half baked way and comment in their own imagination. Why unnecessary headache?

Hi
Yes. you are true. If not all our neibours, some of them are gossip mongers, who always will bother about others and they have the habit of over hearing and later on commenting about it. besides that, during the rainy season, or whenever it is pouring heavily, or the sun is very hot, we can't stand outside and converse over the phone. not only that, here always the signal problems and the server problems will be there and we can't always rely upon our mobile. where as in the landline, the voice is clear, and we can talk from it sitting inside our home

I do not have a landline at all. I have a mobile phone and I use Skype whenever I want to make calls to landlines. I had a landline when I lived in the UK but it was only so I could get mt internet. I have now moved to my Bulgarian home and I live in a very rural area, there is no possibility of landlines here at the moment. Even when the option of landlines comes to my area I don't think I will bother getting one.

Hi Carmelbg
I think there is no server problem and the signal problem in Bulgaria. And there is no necessity for the landline connection there either. That may be the reason, you never thought of having a landline connection. That is good. here in our area, always the signal problem will be there. By sitting inside our house, we can't talk in the cell phone.

Yes, i have a landline connection at my home. But you are right after the invention of mobile phones, many of us feels it is useless to have a landline connection. But some people have their landline connection inspite of having a minimum of two mobiles in their home mainly due to internet connection. Those who don't buy a data card for internet, they take lan connection where the bill amount is paid by post. So in that case landline connection is necessary, otherwise i don't feel so.
