from personal experience, i like to be an entrepreneur more than being an employee. i've done both so i see both the pros and cons. after i graduated college, i worked for 7 months and established my own business. it lasted for almost 3 years before i decide to work abroad to be with my parents. I never regretted it.
having a business is fun. I made so many friends too. the thing is, your earnings depend on how much effort you put in your business. its continuous education. you have to continually upgrade your knowledge to be competitive with the trends.
if you're an employee, you're in a box with a 9-5 job. you've got great benefits, wonderful boss (well, at least my boss). but most of your effort reflects the company not you. being an employee is good if you still want to learn and earn the experience you need. but, i still believe that each of us should be business-minded. :)

well, i'm a final year electronics and communication engineering student and what my people have told me is that getting employed is better than being an employer..because u cannot run an organization or become an entrepreneur at a very young age...most people don't succeed when they take up a business after finishing their college, it is advised by many people to get employed and once you have the money then u can be an entrepreneur , you can run an organization or start up with up with a business or become some political leaders..
first get employed, this is the golden sentence given by various people...
happy mylotting...

you need to understand the concepts of Principles of Management and Total Quality Management, before you start up with a business...even a small scale business, if u start, u should succeed...

With the way things are right now, there are not many choices.
There are still that standard, doctor, medical professional, lawyer, teacher (I am studying for this), musician (they don't make much unless they get famous), and just the normal standard careers, but if you want to make the big bucks, go entrepreneur.

I like to become a professional worker then after I earn enough which goes to my saving i am planning to make an investment so that for a long time i would not be an employee but becomes the own boss of my own business. I could enjoy my job and have more time with my family.

To become an entrepreneur is really a good choice, but I prefer to look for a proper job.
As far as I know, there are lots of graduates who want to become entrepreneurs and start their own career. However, that is just dreams and there are many difficulities to make it come true. For example, they may have many good ideas, but they can't put it into practice for lack of money. Then, a more materialistic choice is to look for a job for themselves. When you have scraped together enough money, then you can start your career and become a successful entrepreneur.
Have a nice day!

Personally, I think its best to work first and save money then put up the desired business. One of the advantage is that you will be able to learn (aside from your institutional knowledge) more on handling subordinates, basic labor laws and business laws, innovative ideas, and what technology to use. It's like going to school all over again, it's just that you're being paid while learning.=)

After graduating college, I went to work for a bank, later though I resigned and worked for our own family business. Someday, I hope to be able to start a business with my sister. We have plans, but right now she is still focusing on her work, and I am focusing on helping out in our family business, and on my side job as a webdesigner. In my opinion, the best way to go after college is first going to work to earn enough money to have sufficient capital for a business.

My post graduation in computer applications will take another two and a half years and after that I plan to gain experience for about 2-5 years and only then start a business. Till then I'm stacking up "capital" for my business!

Hello,
I'm all for becoming a entrepreneur, that is what I did, after all that schooling I have been through, and to be honest with you , it is not the easiet thing in the world to do, because when you work for yourself that takes a lot of time and dedication and work, you haveto remember you are your own boss, meaning you are responsible for all that goes on in your establishment, book keeping, accounting, inventory, stock, shipping, receiving, and more if this is what your business requires. Even though this is what I go though, I will not trade in being my own boss in for nothing in the world. I totally love it and suggest you try becoming your own boss first. Happy My Lotting!

After I graduated I worked in an office. The course I've taken in college helped a little because the job I got in isn't that related to the course I've taken. Well I think life's like that now. And I don't take my studies seriously that why hahaha. If you like you can work and earn some money and start venturing on a business. I am married now and we have a business and I think this one is profitable if taken cared of. Business is on the rocks now but we are possitive that in a few months of hardwork, we can work this out.

I'm a graduating student and I think becoming an employee first is better because we can't run our own business at such an early age. While working, we can save our salary for starting the business we want at the same time we are getting an experience on how to manage a business.
