Where were you exactly one year a go ? You were doing same like now - working in same place, living same place, any new friends, lost friends, any new neighbourows, have you learn something from this one year of life time ?
One year ago I had 1 1/2 work (and 1 1/2 salary), mean I was working 14-16 hours a day, everyday (no free days) while now I work for just one salary, 12 hours a day, 10 of each 15 days, ... I was just a bit more steady finnanciary yet not so much free time, ... And now I am a bit poorer but far more optimistic, ... mean time I made few new friends and lost contacts with some others, ... phisicaly I'm allmost same and unfortunately stress level also is same and I try hard to deal with (successfully by now), ... I live in same place, I was not yet able to make a change but I will have to, despite is possible just in theory.
How about you ?

Sorry I'm a bit pissed because I wrote something very long just to respond to this but it never made it... There's no notice of it being deleted upon submitting I don't know what actually happened. For the discussion sake, I'll just say I couldn't exactly remember what I did the exact same day last year...
I'm really disappointed. I've put my heart on my first response and it just ended in nothingness

@raul
Yeah I think it's better for me to think that I've slept for 24 hours in the same day last year
@hatley
Your right, I would have skipped responding to this discussion but I didn't. I would never let a friend's discussion die if I have something to contribute. Responding to this also helped me expressed how disappointed I am
I'm okay now next time I'll be sure to copy my whole response before submitting so I could just paste it if something went wrong

I think the most important changes that have happened to me in since October 25 2008 is me discovering mylot. I have only found mylot three months ago, and I think it's a wonderful website . . .

Oh, Merlin, sure were other things to, despite discovering mylot is remarcable.
Sure you must have done something intersting within last 12 months .. first parking ticket, playing some online games .. something ..
Start writing a diary, is a nice thing and will give you nice memories plus chance to watch your own development and changes durring the life time ..

Ok, I'm one day late, so I will answer for the 25th as you specified in your discussion, and I will also answer for the 26th which is exactly one year ago.
October 25, 2008: I was in Thailand with my sister and some friends. We rode elephants that day. It was so much fun and scary as well. I felt bad for the elephant afterward though, so I paid extra to get him a bunch of bananas. We also went to the floating market, we rode a boat and looked at a bunch of stuff. I don't recall buying anything except for a bit of street food. It was funny too, because everyone in our tour group was Chinese, though we came from the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. Our tour guide's name was Peter, and he used to be an English teacher. We all refused to go into the snake farm, so we just went to this awesome handmade gallery, and I bought a tiny ceramic cat. We went to lunch after that and then watched an elephant show and crocodile-wrangling show, but I felt bad because I think the animals were being badly treated. We also went to watch a cultural show at the Rose Gardens, and then another elephant show, but this time I think the elephants looked better and well taken care of. I took a picture with a smaller elephant, and he was so funny. He grabbed my foot with his trunk! After that we went a place that sold lots of jewelry, though I didn't buy any. And AFTER that we went to a mall and we bought a camera. Whew!
October 26, 2008: We went to Chatuchak market, and I bought so many shirts! There was so much stuff to see, but the best were these little bunnies that were dressed up in cute little outfits. We also ate so much awesome street food. I also bought this iced tea made out of fruit, and when I asked the vendor what it was made of she kept saying "WAWA" until I realized she was trying to say "guava" LOL! After our market escapade, we went to get some awesome Sundaes at Svenson's. After that we went to the Siam malls, and I went to the most awesome store there, which is the Loft. I also got mad at my sister, and I got to taste ice cream mochi for the first time.
The 25th and 26th of October 2008, and the rest of the days of our trip are probably some of the days I will always remember in detail. Had it been ordinary days, I would never be able to recall anything worth noting.

It was really nice, and I'd like another opportunity to try it again. We don't have it here though... heheh! What really stuck to me though was mishearing guava for "WAWA" LOL!

I think nothing has really changed since last year except for one. During this time last year, my boyfriend's mom is in the hospital fighting for her life.. and on the 27th, she will lose her battle with her illness..
I think losing her really taught us that life can be taken anytime and that you have no control over it. That made us enjoy our life one day at a time, and just really make the most out of it.

That's a great quote.. I'll definitely share it with my boyfriend...the important this really is just to appreciate what and who we have in our lives... we have to appreciate them while they are still living, so that we'll have no regrets when they leave us.

Hey, this time last year i awas working my notice in a horrific job, working 50+ hours a week for decent money but crap conditions. Working evenings, early mornings and all time inbetween. I left on halloween and started my new, current, job a week later. I was close to 8 stone (very underweight), my hair had fallen out round my hairline and other places and i didn't sleep well i was so unhappy and stressed.
I now love my new job, have plenty of spare time for my friends and husband, cook more, volunteer with the girl guides and we have just bought our first house and trying for our first child, so the world has changed a lot in the last year all for the better!
Hopefully in the next year it will get even better!!

God work, just don't stop. Look to ways to make it better and build back-ups .. just for - God forbid - whorst cases ..

I have had two position changes within the same company. Went from part time to full time to full time and salaried, which means even when I work fifty or sixty hours a week I only earn for forty. I am doing quite a bit of freelance. I have two same best old friends, and some new friends.My son has moved back home. Our family is more stable financially. My health is okay, but I have gained too much weight and do not move around enough.

oh my wmraul one year ago today was during the worst period of my life, my son had just lost his job,we had been evicted as we ran out of money and were a month behind on the rent, so we became homeless and had to go stay with friends. Now it is better,not really good but I had to come here to this retirement center as I am 83 and it was too hard living and looking for shelter, and my son got help to get into a gov. sponsored apt with three other men all looking for work. Oh how I do miss our own apartment but in due time when my son finds a job and accumulates some money we plan to move back in together in a two bedroom apartment. so am not really unhappy, just not used to this community living and sharing a room with someone else. spoiled I guess. its all because of this rotten economy. wmraul remember not to sweat the small stuff and most of it is small stuff, that way you can keep stress free. lol

Oct 25th in last year, I was in Moscow to attend a exhibition. After that I got a cold. This year, my work is not very busy. I'm quite at ease but a little bored of the job now.

Hi wmraul, one year ago, let me c, I was scared, my stress levels were rather high. I mean anything bad happens to America, and we go down with it. Stock markets were down, and that is where I have parked all my medical and retirement funds in, so I did have all sorts of fears about the future. Thanks to Obama, things are changing in America, and we are feeling minor ripples out here. :) Whatever, I am far more optimistic but I know I need to go on like this till 2011 march, and the next positive impact will be around October of that year, and thereafter annually every March. So it is only a question of hanging on till then. Friends, yes, this year has been rather painful. U know something when I make a friend, I give a straight passage right upto my heart. And when she decides she no longer needs me, and finds some excuse to be rid of me and even calls me names, I hurt. Wish I could be aloofish. :( Something I need to learn. :)

Hey, vandana7 ! Don't allow anyone to come in your soul with thier spiked boots .. at least not imediatly. Let them stay a while in a anteroom ..
As about funds, I won't give you any advice, but I'll quote a proverb we have here: Don't keep all the eggs in just one bascket ...

I cheated. I checked my calendar. I write everything on my calendar and I have them from way back to 1960. Nothing very special happened that day, but I was busy writing some lessons and program for a coming holiday club.
Have things changed? I guess at my age, things don't change very much. I am still kept busy (maybe busier?) with my voluntary work in children's ministry, which I love and never want to stop doing.
One thing has changed. I left yuwie and came back to myLot after a two year absence.

Since I love fall and that date was close to Halloween I'm sure I was making a good memory, but at this particular time, the memory fails me, lol.
