[b]First of all, the child is not "in love." One doesn't "fall" in love; one "grows" into love, & it's a process that takes at least a year or two to mature, & real love never stops growing. Teens don't have the capability of sustaining that growth; they're just too young! What they do have is an infatuation, & it's likely based on teen hormones, which are very confusing to their minds & bodies. And they have romantic fantasies, along with, perhaps, a bit of sincere admiration. But please don't elevate it to the status of "love."
The cure is easy--distract them. Get the child focused on something else, something that will burn off energy & that needs close attention to do. We all get these childhood crushes, sometimes several times. They are serious, so don't treat their feelings lightly, but don't give them time to brood, either. Get them out & about & busy doing something--ANYTHING that will take their attention off themselves. Just be there for your child, to talk or just support him or her when the heart breaks.
But you still help best by getting their attention off themselves, & keeping them busy.

Hello zhouxi. It is a hard time for us parents to have our teen kids listen to us when they reach the age around fifteen. Quite a few of them will fall in love with someone they like. My son was chased by quite a few girls in his class and was finally in love with one of the bold one. We have tried to persuade him not to, but in vain. He would promise, but in fact, they maintain the relationship. We find it a headache for us parents, as it does influence their study...Let them be as they are the ones to decide what kind of future they desire to move on. I hope that they won't regret when they fail to go to an ideal college later on...

Hi zhouxi, i will advise as a friend that its not a correct age to choose our loved one. We have to move on our life and if we get success our loved ones will hug us. Like the way i used to advise my children. May try this. Good luck.

I really do not disagree that the love which happen durning the highschool, though,i have not do that when i am a highschool student.but there are a lot of friends in my college begun their love from highschool, when they are in high school they study very hard just for going the same collsge together.
In my opinion, the highschllo love is not without a single redeeming feture, the key is the lover have to remember their identify is a student ,and they have a task :study .
