I have recently moved to Bulgaria. I want to travel to many places from here, as I am on mainland Europe this makes many places accessible. I really want to visit Russia, apart from Red Square can you suggest any good places to go there? Turkey is also very close to me, there is a ferry from here to Istanbul which I wish to visit, but are there any other good places to go within Turkey? Would love to hear your suggestions along with any memories of visiting these places.

I visited Bulgaria and then popped over to Romania. I loved visiting beautiful Brasov and Sighisoara. Another time I went on a trip to Turkey and liked it in stunning looking Istanbul. I also went to see the white terraces. I have been to wonderful Montenegro. I haven't been able to afford to visit Russia yet. The problem has been the expense of the visa. Good luck with traveling to many different places and have a great time.

I am also interested in Romania and Montenegro - they are so close it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to see them.

The historic towns and villages in Romania are a delight. I wonder what you will think of the Bulgarian language. Good luck if you are going to learn it. I remember Montenegro with much fondness. Further away is Croatia and it has beautiful Dubrovnik that you might enjoy visiting.

I have begun to learn the language here, its very difficult. I have to say the Bugarians are so patient with me, they don't speak any english and are very kind when I attempt their language! I think its going to take a long time to become fluent.

I was able to visit Turkey when I was in the navy. I have not enjoyed a place more than I did in Turkey, so of course, that place comes highly recommended by me. I bought my Persian carpet in Turkey, and the people were very nice and accomodating. Never been to Russia, but been to Italy (Venice) and loved it. Slovenia is close as well, and that is a nice fairly welcoming place. Looks like you have a lot of history right around you...! Wherever you go, enjoy the sights! Have a great day... Dive Deep!

I went to Istanbul for a holiday recently and really enjoyed the time that I spent there. I can't however, comment on other places to visit in Turkey since I've not travelled to other parts, and also, it really depends on your own interests and what you want to see. If it's night life, then head for the south coast tourist resorts. Though I suppose you'll find that just as well in Istanbul

Many many years ago I visited Russia, it was a beautiful country to me. Also it was my first time to go abroad. so everything was very exciting to me. if you do visit Russia I think you can go to Moscow and its biggest city( I can not spell its name in English). If you can you should go to Moscow theatre to watch its show. I watched once, it really impressive. I have not been in Turkey, but heard a lot about the country. To many british people Turkey is a ideal holiday destination. best regards.
