I was watching Wake up with Al this morning on the weather channel and they had an olympic metalist on who says for arthritis or aching muscles or joints to drink cherry juice. I have heard this before but he said if you drink cherry juice you don't even have to take ibuprofen everyday...I looked for it today in the grocery store but from what I understand you have to buy it at a health food store. Next time I am near one I am going to pick some up and try it. Have you heard this before or tried it for all the benefits it's supposed to have? Supposedly it is loaded with antioxidants and anti-inflammatories

I have heard this about cherry juice and canned cherries. Also heard it will help lower blood sugar. Had my husband pick up a can several weeks ago but keep forgetting to open it. If it works in place of ibuprofen, I sure need to get started drinking it and see if it will help my aching back.

hello jillhill,
yes, it sure works for i've been drinking cherry juice for months now. i have an arthritis and gout problem at early 40s. and one time, the niece of my wife called up and she told my wife to give me cherry juice for her husband's doctor recommended that when he has the same problem. since cherry juice is not available here in our country she sent us four bottles of it. it's concentrated that i can mix it with cold or warm water. i told my mother who happen to be in abroad to buy for me since i'm running out of stock already but she was having a hard time where to buy it. till such time that i was told that she should look in health food store.
so helpful to me and effective. sure it will work to you too or anybody else.glad to know about it.

Walmart has a fruit juice that is a punch. One of the fruit juices is cherry. I like it because has 100% juice.

I try to keep a bottle of it in the fridge. We use it quite a bit. The price is right too!

I knew there was a certain kind of cherry that helped lower cholesterol, but I don't know if I recall hearing about cherries helping arthritis. And Pye mentioned cherry extract cut down her appettite. Just one more reason for me to get cherry extract, and cherry juice! I love cherries, so it won't be a hardship for me.

It is suppossed to be really good for men, and their reproductive organs. I do love cherries, it would be nice get the flavor with out having to pick out the seeds. We only have a couple of health food stores left around here. I have not tried just plain cherry juice, I have had cherry mixed with other fruits in juices, but not just plain cherry, I wonder if it is a tiny bit sour. I would love to try it.

I had not heard that, and am too young for arthritis to affect me just yet, but I'll keep it in mind, because it won't be long before my husband or I start having that problem.
I recently heard something about drinking cranberry juice while a woman is on her period... had you heard anything about that before?

My husband enjoys cherry flavored stuff, so maybe he'd like this. Though I assume it has natural sugars and no added sugars, so I'm not sure. I don't know about the health benefits, but I know you've already got great responses on that!

It is also loaded with vitamin C. A very good drink to take in its natural form. Have you ever taken cinnamon tea with honey? I believe that this helps arthritis too. I drink a cup daily for my high cholesterol. I do not know if it is working yet! The best anti oxidant and anti cancer fruit is a ripe banana but it must be a banana that has dark spots on it. The more ripe it is the more beneficial it is. This has just been released by the Japanese who have finished extensive research on the ripe banana.

Hey Jillhill,
Thats a very interesting comment you made. I actually have never seen cherry juice in any of the supermarkets i have visited. I will be sure to check out so of the health stores for it in the future as i suffer from back pains since i was in a car crash 3 years ago. If I could kick the med's and find a more natural solution I would definitely be willing to try it. Nice post I make sure to look out for posts from you in the future cheers, Stee09

Hi jillhill,I'd heard of cherries being good for something health wise but it wasn't this. i think though that I'll have to stick with brufen as nothing could entice me to drink cherry juice, I loathe it. It's bad enough having to chew two pieces of chalk every day masking as calcium, without washing them down with that.
