Hello scars, you have been gone a long time. Welcome back.
I think playing video games help us in increasing our concentration and focus. Strategy games even help us to use the brains and thus nurture it. The problem comes when someone gets too addicted to video games. I believe too much of anything is bad. If you can keep balance between everything the result is usually good.

I agree completely with you. Anything too much is bad, there should be a balance.

I too think the same...keeping balance never harm.. but getting addicted is harmful...playing video games are just not only for fun or entertainment but to relax our mind and soul... now a days how many people do play outdoor games in the playgrounds ? Where are the playgrounds for the kids now a day to play ? So all are going to play video games...

I have heard people say that video games are bad and all they do is rot your brain and cause kids to become violent, and I have also heard that video games makes us dull and boring and lazy, and I do not think either of those are true, because video games are a good source of enjoyment and they are a good way to pass the time, and I think video games are starting to change the way people do things, especially with the Nintendo Wii since it makes you get off the couch, and get more involved in the game especially since they have different types of games, and different attachments you can buy,and the Wii also helps you exercise and can help you with your weight loss goals,so video games are definitely anything but dull, and I am sure that future systems, will be even better, and plus you have a bunch of different types of games to choose from.

I guess it would depend on the video game in question. If it's a simple no-brainer game, then obviously, the brain's going to go dull. But a lot of video games allows for people to have to do some thinking on their part to finish the game. And then of course, there are various puzzle games or edutainment games to help keep the mind sharp. As for playing too much video games, well, again, it depends on the game. If I play a lot of puzzle games that's suppose to sharpen the mind then how can it become dull?
So, playing video games doesn't really dull the mind. In fact, I would think it's television that dulls it. I mean, there's not as much thinking or even movement involved in watching TV. (Unless you're watching educational stuff, that is.)
