Many people who are trying to save money or who are trying to look out for the environment are hanging their clothes to dry now. Are you one of them? Can be inside or out.

I do not hang my clothes to dry. I just put them in the dryer as it is a lot faster. I know that it is a lazy method to do things but it sure saves time and effort and you are sure that your clothes won't get dirty outside while drying them.

It is faster that is for sure. I sometimes start mine in the dryer and then take them out after 10 minutes and hang them on the stairway railings.

I have always hung my clothes out to dry (unless it's raining of course). Call me old fashioned, but I would rather hang my clothes out to dry naurally as opposed to putting them in the drier. You can't beat your clothes being blown by the wind to give them that lovely fresh smell! Besides, the clothes drier is so expensive!

I have only a small dryer, so for large items I sometimes have to hang them to dry. This works well in the winter when I can hang them by the heater and they dry more quickly than they would in the dryer where they are too bunched up to dry well. But I can't put them out in summer, because I have no clothesline. In some areas they have town ordinances against clotheslines and people aren't allowed to dry their clothes outdoors. I think it's silly for your neighbors to object to your clean clothes hung out to dry, but some people think it's an eyesore. Life has changed a lot since I was young, I always had to hang clothes on the line outside for my mother.

With the sun all year round, I always hang my clothes to dry. Even during stormy or rainy weather when I do some small laundry, I hang my clothes to dry that is air dry and when the sun is out I just transfer to the clothesline. I don't have electric dryer or washing machine and I just rely on the natural elements like the sun, wind or air to dry the clothes. This way you not only save money for electric bills but you help in the saving of the environment.

Yes I do. When it's really sunny outside we no longer put the clothes in the dryer but instead we hang it from outside to let it dry. What we also do so that the colored ones don't get discolored or the colors don't go dull, we turn the clothes inside out to protect its color. But when it really isn't that sunny, we put the clothes in the dryer, then still hang it either outside or inside the house and make use of the Clothes Hangers to let it dry.

Since I am from South India, where the weather is only hot, hotter and hottest, none of our citizens use the dryer, and in 95% of the houses, the clothes are hung to dry. It is not that we are trying to save the environment,or some thing like that, since the weather permits us to hang our clothes to dry we do it.

Hi, ladym33! Yes, i do hang out my clothes, weather permitting. It saves money on the electricity bills, and the clothes seem to stay fresher longer. It does take a few minutes longer to hang them out on a line, but it helps. I can usually get three to four loads hung out on the line at one time. Then i can go on to something else. Sure the dryer is easier, and i do have one for the rainy days, but i prefer to save some money while helping the environment.

Hi Ladym33, Yes i hang our clothes to dry. My husband fixed a tube outside the house where we can hang our clothes. You are right, this saves power energy and environmental friendly. When it's raining, we hang our clothes inside our room. We make a temporary pole where we can hang them on.
