What do you think is the best way to break the ice with someone new? I am in a new country and would like to make as many new friends as possible. What do you find is the easiest way to get chatting to someone in the street or in a club/pub?

I've never been good at making friends with strangers myself. All of the friends I have I have made through school or work. Maybe you would be able to make friends at work or join some sort of group to meet people with common interest. If I did make friends with a stranger it would definately be in a social environment like a club. A good icebreaker for me is a dance or something like that.

I think it might be interesting to see you break the ice as you would do in your country, you know what I mean?
Maybe there are differences in cultures where you are at right now and could be fun to see what you can come up with.
