Credit Scores

My best friend is looking into purchasing a house....however, her credit scores are terrible (or so I've been told).
What can she do to improve her score?

First she can check her reports and make sure everything on there is accurate. She can also go to a debt consolidation company or her bank and have all her loans put on one loan. There are a number of consumer credit agencies available, but they can be scams so she needs to find one that is going to be able to work with her.
