I do not understand why people don't wear seatbelts. It's the law in every state, I think. When I see coverage of an accident where one or more occupants was ejected from the vehicle, I'm disgusted by their lack of common sense. They could have survived if they had been belted in! And then the ones who don't put their kids in car seats should be jailed.

I always wear my seat belt. I don't think I've ever ridden in a car without wearing my seat belt. I know some people consider it "uncool" or something, but it's the law in my state, and it does make a difference if a crash does happen. I've heard horror stories of people getting stuck in their seat belts after a crash or getting strangled by them, but I still wear one. I believe it does more good than harm.

Of course, that is the purpose of seatbelt for our safety. I also see those people who do not wear seatbelt they are confident that they can take care of themselves. They don't understand that accident can happen anytime, that seatbelt is made for cars for safety purpose, they must use it or else they will regret it.

I have learned to use the seat belt when the law was implemented regarding the use of seat belts. I have to admit that before, I rarely wear the seat belt when I am driving. But now that I have started wearing the seat belt, I feel more secured and safe. That is why now, I am always wearing seat belt, not because of the fear of getting arrested but rather for safety purposes.

Dear friend,
I our place south India it is compelled to wear seat belt particular the diver and the person sat in front seat seat. If not a fine is levied and even it may lead to imprisonment. But this has reduced lots of accidents. But only thing is the cars should have a quality seat belts that is comfortable to put up.

I always wear a seat belt in the car and insist that everyone else wear one also. I worked in an ER at a hospital and that was something I learned from that experience
to always wear your seat belt.

Hi jugsjugs, It is also the law where I live but you still find people who don't buckle up. I think there are always a few who want to defy the law, maybe they think that they are pulling a fast one on the government. The thing is of course, they are the ones who suffer if they are involved in an accident. Blessings.

You bet I do! Especially when my grandson is in the car. It is the law here. Anybody that rides in my car wears one. That is my law! I figure if I can make my little corner of the world go by the law then maybe it will filter out. It only makes sense.

I prefer to wear it and it make me feel safer and secure. I know that there are many people who do not wear seat belt and some do not even feel comfortable to wear it. But because it has become a habit of me to wear a seat belt, so, I will continue do so .

Hi Jugs, absolutely...every time. Here, it is against the law not to wear a seat belt or not to have children under a certain size and height in an approved car seat, and never in the front seat.
It's a good law, actually. Those who don't follow it get incresingly higher fines!

It is my son who drives the car and he wears it. I wear it too when I am seated in the front seat. I have to admit though that I sometimes forget about it especially when going to a very near place. Those in the back seat don't wear seat belts. Although seat belt enforcement here is very lax (they apprehend and fine you now and then no longer do it in the coming days), we should personally see to it that we wear seat belts, for our own safety.
