Your Favorite Kingdom

Indonesia was once a land where there are live many kingdom. There are many kingdom that really are famous all aroun the world like Sriwijaya, Singgasari, Majapahit, Demak, etc.
What is your favorite kingdom in Indonesian History? Why Do You like them? And what story you have with them.
As for me, My Favorite is Majapahit Kingdom. I really like most story about them. Like How Raden Wijaya fight off the Mongol And then build the Majapahit Kingdom. I also like the story Of Prime Minister Gajah Mada who then able to United Nusantara into One Nation. ( Which after this, Nusantara refferer to Indonesia today ).

I think majapahit is the great kingdom. Almost of north east asian is theirs. And gajahmada is my favourite actor on majapahit since he can make nusantara or maybe today is indonesia become one united. I think almost of indonesian history is related with majapahit.

Yes, Raden Wijaya is really great because he can make a strategy where at first, he said that as Kertanegara heir, the next leader of Singasari Kingdom, he request the Mongolian to help him destroy Jayakatwang, the rebel leader that kill Kertanegara. After that he said he will subdue to Yuan Dynasty ( Mongol ).
But after the Mongol help him defeat Jayakatwang, he create Majapahit Kingdom and then attack the Mongolian so they are forced to retreat to leave java.

Yes, most part of Nusantara is now Indonesia. So you can tell that Indonesia actually is the successor of Majapahit Kingdom. And yes, i also agree that Gajah Mada is the most Popular Person In Majapahit. Too bad in his old day, he create Bubat War that ruin his name forever and make him loose his prime minister title. Well, because i simply heard many stories about Majapahit. It also has the most Famous people. People like Raden Wijaya, Gajah Mada, Hayam Wuruk, Jaya Negara and other most people are born at that kingdom. It also the kingdom that can unite Nusantara. Thanks for responding.

Well i don't really know any story about sriwijaya. But With Demak Kingdom, i know most of them from a television series that are air in the ramadhan a few years ago. It's title is Wali Songo, story about Wali Songo and Demak Kingdom. How Demak, slowly but surely united java and reduce Majapahit and make them flee to Bali. Ok, that's it what i know. Thanks.

Yes, Majapahit has a very strong navy and a very talented admiral. With these strong navy they can ever repel the mongol invasion and make the Yuan Dynasty ( Mongolian dynasty at china ) give them respect. Too Bad after Gajah Mada stop being the prime minister, Majapahit become more and more weaker.

So you also read the novel written by langit kresna. Well he is one of the greatest writer that write a great novel. I really like most of his historical novel. It inform us about history and also increase our feeling of nationalism. I hope he keep writing more and more historical novel.

My favorite is Majapahit as Hindu kingdom and Mataram as Islamic kingdom. Majapahit, as a big and great kingdom has Minister Gajah Mada who has a dream to unite Nusantara into one nation and it can be realization. Mataram, as Islamic kingdom, has Sultan Agung who has a dream to unite Java under Mataram kingdom (when Java controlled by the VOC).

Well yes, but the best achievement still in the hand of majapahit. Too Bad when gajah mada gone, majapahit start to stop it grows. And when hayam wuruk gone, majapahit start divide again. The Country has lose its glory and many country start to rebel. Thanks.
