I have been thinking about how me and my wife have been through a lot since we met two years ago and something I just happened to think about was the time me and my wife somehow broke our toilet seat and I am not sure how it happened but it was really weird that it happened, and my mother replaced it,but somehow we managed to break it again,no one knows how but it is hilarious, and because of it my mother made us use a plastic toilet seat so we could not break it,so this brings me to my questions,Have you ever broken a toilet seat? How did ou break it?Did you have to replace it?Was anyone mad when you broke it?I appreciate all responses that mylotters choose to give me,but please all I ask is that you read this discussion and seriously answer it with answers that are on topic and not off the wall and I will promise I will comment back in a serious matter to every response I get,Happy Mylotting.

dude how in the world did you break the toilet seat? wow thats one thing i didnt need to hear. but anyways you shouldnt be doing that in the bathroom anyway. lol jk. ok well i guess if it was a cheap seat then it would break anyways. maybe you just closed it hard or it was just a peace of crap. but lesson learned if you keep breaking the toilet seat dont get one that is wood you might get a splinter where you dont want it. ok well have fun and dont break the toilet seat again.

Yeah I know it seems pretty hard to break a toilet seat, and ha ha ha you are hilarious and maybe it was cheap, and cheap seats are always gonna break, and yeah we would not get a wooden one because we do not want splinters, lol I do not plan to break anymore toilet seats and I always have fun, thanks for responding, and it is about time you started mylotting again lol.

I think we did slam it, though it wasn't exactly on tight enough... Then again, rickey was over around that time... Lol kidding.

Yeah it was not exactly on tight enough, and Rickey could have broken it like he broke our bed twice, but that is a different story lol.

Ah, yours sounds like a lively household!!
Yes, we have indeed broken the seat of our throne! It involved a rather unfortunate slipping sideways, a big crash and the whole thing coming off!
Luckily it had just come unscrewed for the bowl and could be screwed back on, sothe actually seat itself was not broken.
Happy Loo breaking, everyone!

Hi there hellcowboy, it is only in the last 13 to 14 years, we are using a WC, before that, it was good old Indian style squatting toilets. At that time we did not have running water in our house and we had to do with a hand pump. Well, thankfully, things are quite different now.
Coming to your point, in these 13 to 14 years, I had to change the seat twice. Both the times, it was broken by my daughter, who usually drops the toilet seat with a big bang. She thinks it is unhygenic to touch the toilet seat, and just tips it with the tip of her fingers. How can you be mad with your own daughter. I just told her softly not to do it in the future. Alas she continues to do it.

Lol kids never learn, and that sucks that it is not sinking in that you can not slam the toilet seat, and you should get her gloves or something so she would stop thinking it is nasty to touch the toilet seat, thanks for responding.

Lets face it, the kind of seats you get these days I think they can break anytime. They are cheap and plastic and when I sit on some of them I do believe they might go through. Breaking a plastic thing is not unusual and plastic breaks anytime, anyway. All you need is the right angle of pressure and there you go !

That is so true, everything seems cheap especially since the economy is so bad off right now,and I have been afraid of falling through the seat at times too, thanks for responding.

Hi Hellcowboy, I expect you'd feel right at home here then in the land of broken toilet seats. I noticed long ago that every toilet seat here appears to be broken then of course realised that all the builders install the three euro version which breaks probably the first time it is used as so cheap and nasty, and I expect made out of some imitation plastic. With that in mind I got a wooden one but naturally the hinges broke on that too and it now sits there coverless. I don't think there's an actual reason as to why they break in the first place such as someone broke it, more a case of it is inevitable they will break like most things Greek.
