Today i see news in yahoo that there are a new fake facebook site. This fake facebook site is exactly almost the mirror of the original facebook home site since it has the same appearance. The different thing about the fake with the original is the URL where this fake facebook use facebook.co.tv.
The site actually not doing anything but only recorded your user name and password when you enter from that site. After you enter it, the fake facebook will then forward you to the original facebook so you will think that you simply enter the wrong password. The url of tha facebook spread trough message, it is a hoax that saying facebook now is selecting it active user and will delete those will not login from that site. Anyway, do you ever meet this kind of site, not only for facebook but for other site too. Also what do you think about this kind of site?
Thanks

This is a site that has just been set up to scam peoples details for the true Facebook. Once they can access your facebook account they will be able to see all your details and will probably use it to do some kind of ID fraud.

It is good news to hear that the site seems to have been blocked. I just hope not too many people have been fooled by it.

Ohh, now I know that's where the message comes from! I have been receiving that kind of messages about the site is being overcrowded and they will only select those who are active and to prove it that we have to forward the message to as many people as you can like 15 people like that otherwise our accounts will be deleted! I never logged into this site, but I wonder what they are trying to gain by spreading that hoax messages?? I did forward the messages though, just in case! I think Facebook should come up and clear the confusions much earlier than this.

Well i don;t really see the point of people spreading hoax message. This actually happened in a lot of Social Networking Site. I also experience using that kind of message when i use frienster. It is actually rather stupid since it is for the social networking site to just put the news in their home page instead of asking other to send some message which will flood their server.

Well i don't really know if it gonna still our picture, but password and most of our private data must be gonna be stole by them. So avoid the site for sure. And make sure you check every href from every link that people gave you, even if the one who give you is your friend.

Yes, it is better if you check the link that people give you through E-Mail. Most of it actually can be a spam, but some of them actually can lead you to a scam / phishing site that will still your username, password and your other personal data. Thanks for responding this discussion.

Yes. you shouldn't warn your friend about facabook.co.tv since the site actually has been blocked by most browser. But you do must warn your friend for another trick that might happened. It seem that this kind of trick is not the first time, and i am really sure that this is will not be the last.

I have heard of something similar with the situation you have said above.
In fact, the fake Facebook is just a Phishing Website, which is so similar with the original Facebook official site that most people, expecially these newbies, can't distinguish the fake one and the true site. Of course, this kind of site usually record our username, password and other privacy information.
These fake sites may bring us some serious potential threats usually.
