I think,No matter what exercises all can lose you weight,if you can stick to exercise.You also can lose 10 pound in two months if you do like your friend.
If you keep lazy,and always in front of the computer,you will never lose weight.

Walking alone will not help you to lose weight. Leisure walking does not help much in weight loss. It must be coupled with dieting and exercising of will power. Of course walking will help in your heart beat faster and will result in burning more calories inside your body. Therefore everyone should eat lower volume of food but more frequent. YES!! WALKING IS RATED #1 EXERCISE TO START OUT DOING TO LOSE WEIGH!! Start with just walking from your house to the corner and back for two weeks. As you build-up your stamina & endurance increase the distance. Next thing to do is switch your intake of calories with your out-take of calories. Meaning, start burning more calories than you (take in)consume. Watch your FATS, CARBS & SUGARY food intake so U don't start out on the yo-yo effect. Eat more whole grains, fresh fruit and vegetables. Do this for the first 60 days gradually adding in push-ups & sit-ups at 2/sets of 10/reps 3-5 days a week as well as STRETCHING BEFORE/AFTER each workout session. Finally don't let the scale tell U if your LOSING WEIGHT, let the CLOTHES U WEAR do that! I hope this helps U in your goal...keep up the fight

yes, it really works...walking can help burn excess fats...but depending on the duration of your walk and the distance as well as the pacing.. if you are not into walking like myself..try swimming... all your muscles are at work therefore your wt loss will help you equalize your fat distribution as well as develop muscle strength in all parts of your body...=)

Walking is my exercise. Walking can make you lose pounds if you do it briskly and fast at a regular schedule. I always walk and it can be fun. I often go to the malls to take a walk so it would be more enjoyable. I walk to and fro, climbing and going down the stairs instead of using the elevator or glide. Some even buy pedometers to measure the number of steps they have taken in a day. You can walk in the park or in the street anytime of the day. It exercises the whole body and in time you will notice that you have started to trim down on your weight.

Walking alone does not help to lose weight fast. In fact, walking must be brisk. It should be at a speed that you find it difficult to sing or talk with your partner while walking. if you keep eating the same (or even less), and star either walking or doing any other type of exercise- every day, then yes, you will indeed lose weight. I can't say exactly how much, though.

Walking is a good exercise for burning fat and is easy on the joints. I think your friend is right, and it can be effective for burning fat, and is good for your heart! Good luck!

Oh you should start walking. If not with a friend then by yourself. Walking can be good fun. Relieves stress.
