They even say that money can't buy love and so on.. Ok, but you can't be happy when you have no money..
So how much money do you want to make to be happy?
There is another belief that when you have excess of money you will lose of peace of mind.
Some people spend most of the time on making money- losing the happiness of present life...
What do you think?

Yes, I agree money does help to add to happiness. It decreases alot of your day to day worries and stresses of how am I going to pay this bill or how am I going to be able to get this fixed on my car or house. Like they say the more money you have the more problems you have.

Yes, it is very true that money can contributes to one's happiness and I am sure that everybody who needs money to buy those food, clothes and other necessities will not object to how important money is.
How much money do I want to make me happy?? Well, as long as they can cover the expenses and have some extra to do something that is fun especially with my hubby and family, that will be enough. I want the money not only to make myself happy, but share with them.
There are times when we don't have enough money, we will be sad and worry, of course, but that does not mean that we are not happy. I admit that sometimes it can be very stressful, but as long as we do not depend too much on money to make us happy, we can still find ways to be happy as we still have each other and once we have the money we need, it will be a 'double' happiness.
However, some people will depend too much on money where they will be extremely happy when they have money, but once they have no money, they will change drastically, which can ruin the happiness they have with the family. So, their present life will be neglected because they only want to find money and in the end, they have no one to share with in the long run and the table will turn back to them. Having so much money, but there is no happiness...
So, we can have both happiness and money, but if we only choose the latter, we will lose both. If we are happy, we can still find money, but if we have money, happiness is not easy to find.
Well, that's what I think...

Of course, actual life is different that's why I need to believe in what I am thinking because if I only depend on money to make me happy, I won't have a life at all. It means that if I don't have money, I won't be happy all the time.
There are other things that can make me happy, but I also don't deny that money can also bring happiness, however, sometimes there are other things that have to be sacrificed as well such as quality time with my loved ones etc.

In my opinion, money can make our life colourful. But it doesn't mean everything.Sometimes even you've got a lot of money, you don't feel happy. That is life I think. Without money you can do nothing and on the other hand you can't do everything just with lots and lots of money.

in my opinion..money cant buy happiness but it is instrument to bring us happiness. If a woman married with a man no money...they will not become happy in the end. they will quarrel because of lack of money to give to their kids, If they got money they can go everywhere to enjoy their life together with their kids.. they can also give better future for their generation.

i don't know, maybe 10 euro to buy some sweets :D, i'm so happy now, without money, but very very very happy. sure money can help you to make some things like long travels in other countries, or something too expensive for normal people, but i don't think that i'll so happy with a lot of money, with too much money other things can become without value. i think it's more precious something make by own hands, that something bought with money. Without money we can give another kind of value to our things, something much deeper than our poket.

Hi vijayanths,
I agree with you money cannot buy love and so on. A person who is busy earning money never enjoys his life & he will not be happy and the moment he wants to enjoy he thinks in that age he cannot enjoy and again he will not be again.
Money is required to maintain one's family to overcome daily needs and to save some money for future.
According to me one who has earned more money will not be having peace of mind.

money can buy everything like instant happiness but not true one. for example you want to buy new clothes, the latest fashion, when you buy this it will make you happy. if you want to eat delicious foods, you use money to buy it, and it makes you happy. but the happiness is just for a moment. people who spend time making money are people who only think of the present happiness. because true happiness is having peace of mind and security.

yeah i agreed with you that money can not buy happiness but money help your get happiness. Basically all things is good in middle, too low and too much bad for you. Same like money. Too low money make your life horrible. Too much money can make your greedy also can attract dangerous people to you. For me everything is in equilibrium. ^^

I don't think i can be happy without money. I really want money because it uses in exchange with merchandise, I can't buy anything without money. If you are asking how much money I need to be happy, I need millions of millions of money. I want to buy a house for my pets, if they are in their safe shelter I will be really happy. I need money to buy vitamins and supplements for my parents, to make them more stronger. I need money for my brothers tuition fee so that he can't finish school and be educated and have a degree, so that in time he can't help me providing with the family. I need money for our house renovation and some emergencies. SEe there are many uses of money in my life. But I found happiness when I have peace of mind, when I have no problem. When my family is happy. Even I have few money I am happy when I have all that.

I believe that we can never buy love with money. But, the case of happiness is different. We can't always buy happiness with money. But, sometimes we can make the day of a person with money. I will be happy if I get some money as gift. I will be very happy if you can gift me a jewelry item. Many times I have made my friends happy with my gifts. So, money has its part, but not always.

Oh, poor Vijay. The belief that you can't be happy without money is one of the biggest misconceptions in the world. Sure, we all need a little money to survive, but financial status should never determine how happy someone is. My grandma used to always tell me that if there were lots of things that you wanted to buy, but you didn't have the money and it was starting to make you unhappy, then it's time to change your wants.
And thinking that we can pick an amount of money that we want to make and that will make us happy is another mistake. We are human, and part of our instinct is to always try to do something better than we did it before, it's part of our survival of the species instincts. So once we get to that magical income number, sure, it'll make you happy for a little while, but eventually, your consumptions will start to catch up with your income and eventually it will level out and you will start to want more money again.
Bottom line, happiness comes from internal peace. Some of the happiest people on earth have the least amount money, but they are at peace within themselves. They are not always chasing a dollar, not always stressing about a mortgage payment they can't make. They have enough to eat with, their bills are paid, and their hobby is spending time with their families and loving them, and that, money can not buy.

You sound very philosophical. In Indian philosophy we have all these points. But in real life how much we can follow these stuff? that is the problem. You have given a very detailed and thought provoking response lefthooklacey. Thanks for your response.

Actually you can not buy happiness, but have some money at hand makes a plus point to be happy, you have to use that money to make you happy. Usually anyone can use money in any way them want, so it is the way you use money is what matters.
I think I know how I can spend my money to make me happy, as well as others :) There is a saying that making money is easy but spending it is difficult. But before spending, need to find out a way to earn some more money :)
