I have been thinking a lot about video games lately and I have a lot of games I like to play and I have noticed that there are times when I am playing a game and I will not be able to figure out what I am supposed to do or where I am supposed to go,which really annoys me,so I will come to the computer and go to Gamefaqs.com and look up a walkthrough for whatever game I am playing at the time, and I will use that to help me figure out wherever I am in the game, like right now I am playing Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess for the Game Cube and I have been using a walkthrough to help me through the tough parts of the game, since this is my first time playing it,I do not think it is cheating since it does not involve cheat codes and it just gives me an idea, and I still have to do the work myself,so my questions are Do you use Gamefaqs.com?Do you use it a lot?Do you consider that cheating?Do you prefer to explore and find out things on your own?Do you dislike people who use walkthroughs?I hope I get a lot of responses on this discussion, but please only give me serious and down to earth answers that I can comment back on,Happy Posting.

Well it depends entirely on how hard you try to do it on your own. Sure you have to actually go do it, but part of the fun is, in my opinion, figuring out how it works. But sometimes there's something you just can't figure out. And on occasion when I've finally decided to look it up it's something stupidly simple that I would *never* have thought of because it's way too simple. Or I don't own the game manual and didn't realize that if I held down L I could change my direction facing without moving. *Stares at Lufia 2* Looking up how to defeat a boss you can't beat is one thing. Using the guide from the get go is a different story. Just the same as looking up where to find all the little bugs in Twilight Princess to me, would be cheating. But looking up where to find the last one or three you haven't managed to find, not at all. So, as you've stated you're only using the guide to help you through the tough parts of the game, I wouldn't personally consider it cheating.

I agree it is fun to figure out how it works, but sometimes if you try so long and can not get it,it annoys you and frustrates you and it might even make you not want to play the game ever again, and yeah sometimes what you need is so simple a caveman would have thought of it,and I am glad you would not consider it cheating because I do not like cheating on games or anything, thanks for responding.

Ive used GameFaqs a lot. I would not have gotten through many of the lengthy role playing games I have played without them. Sometimes a game just gets so frustratingly stuck that you have to look up the faqs to get through. THere have been some very detailed GameFaqs done very quickly. Its pretty impressive when they are very categorized and detailed with info on literally EVERYTHING in the game.

Yeah I know some people have incredible time on their hands to make such good gamefaqs for games, and it is amazing the details they give, and I know how it is to have some games you can not beat without a gamefaq since they are so hard, thanks for responding.

I remember one time not too long ago when your mom asked me if it wasn't cheating for me to look up what I needed to do next, this was for Lego Indiana Jones. I told her no, that I was just stuck, and cheating would be looking up cheat codes. I enjoy looking at gamefaqs if I am stuck, and don't think it's cheating. It also helps when it comes to finding out cool things about the game.

Yeah that is true using Gamefaqs can help you find out cool things like special weapons or hidden locations or other things you might not would find on your own,and it is a whole lot better than using cheat codes,I love you.

I wasn't even aware that gamefaqs existed until I met you and you told me about it. It's a pretty cool site, I'll tell you that, but some of the walkthroughs aren't as extensive as I wish they would be. There's a lot left to be said on some games. If we were any good at it, we could always try to make one or two.

I use walkthroughs when I am stuck in a game. I hate struggling to play a game so I don't consider it cheating. Sometimes you are just so stuck and without a walkthrough you can not play the game any further. Cheats are a different story - that is cheating. What I do is lay the game and only when I get stuck do I use a walkthrough for that specific part. I don't sit and play the whole game following the walkthrough. It's out of desperation and frustration that I use a walkthrough.

I hate struggling to play a game as well and it just gets annoying, and it does stop you from getting any farther, and it is cool to use it when you need it,and I do not know many people who follow the walkthrough word for word through the whole entire game,Thanks for responding.
