If you are talking about the Bible, the religious text that is part of Abrahamic religions, then no, they do not and often should not coincide. We have moderated the religious text and its rulings to fit our modern goal system that is far more progressive and accepting than back then. I think the seperation of religion and government or legislation more specifically, is imperative to democracy.
