Rob from the Poor and Give to the Rich.

Why is it that people steal from poor folks? A friend of ours who is on a really low income and not in good health has just had his mobile 'phone stolen. He even knows who took it but the police say unless _he_ can prove it they can't do anything (and there was me thinking that kind of thing was their job...).
The toe-rag who took the 'phone could not, by any stretch of the imagination, have not known that our friend is really poor. He also must have known he recently had a major operation and that the 'phone itself is a very basic model which is the only 'phone the family have.
So the toe-rag steals the phone and now our friend has had to buy another one - an expense he can do without but has to bear because, like I said, he isn't well and the family _a_ 'phone.
The mobile 'phone company get a little bit richer which is why I said rob from the poor and give to the rich. I hope the toe-rag is proud of himself that he's managed to do a Robin Hood in reverse.
What do you think, is it your experience that the really poor are more often the victims of crime?

Yes, thiefs and robbers are a menace to the society and they couldn't care less. The poor are often the ones who are hurt most. The rich ones can easily afford to buy a new cell phone while the poor it will take a lot from their savings if they have savings at all or have to go into debt in order to get a new one.
At the same time, the rich one's get richer and the poor are always at the disadvantage. That being said, the rich are not exempted from robbers, they are victimized too but being rich they can easily bounce back unlike the less fortunate ones.

Well loser who steal from others could care less if the person they are ripping of is poor or not...its irrelivent to them, all they care about is getting whatever they can for free...
As for whether or not I think the poor are more often victims of crime...Certain crimes I would say yes..for example the poor are more likely to be victims of violent crimes IMO whereas I think the wealthy are more likely to be victims of things like carjackings, B and E's, robbery etc etc..Thats just my opinion though
