"You don't know what you're missing out on."

Missing out ..? - Be it trying out a tiny piece of meat when you've been a vegetarian all your life,
being left out on the waiting area since all of your family went on to ride a massive rollercoaster with lots of twists and turns, or maybe
all your friends having relationships, when you still choose to be single.

How many times have you heard people say this to you? What was the situation? Be it trying out a tiny piece of meat when you've been a vegetarian all your life, being left out on the waiting area since all of your family went on to ride a massive rollercoaster with lots of twists and turns, or maybe all your friends having relationships, when you still choose to be single. Would you want to try out and finally see what it was they say that you're "missing out"? Or would you just let it be and take it in your own stride? If it happens, it happens, if it doesnt', then it doesnt..? If you were to find out for yourself how the experience is (like taking a teeny bite of that meat, going on that rollercoaster ride, or finally being in a relationship) would you say that you were glad you did it? or you regretted doing it? Lastly, what if that something was lost(applicable to relationships), would you have wished that you never found out since you had a blissful single life oblivious to that kind of pain? Whatever your stories and opinions are, Ill be glad to read and comment on all of them. Thanks!

Well, I've a catch phrase I use a lot..All things in time, but not all at the same time.. Have I missed out on things?..Sorta, maybe, kinda..But as I'll never know, it doesn't really matter. What concerns me more is the things that I know, the people I've known, the things I've learned, the incredible experience of being 'HERE NOW', my Liz, our home and what of those things that I would have missed out on had things gone differently. These things are far more important to me than some fantasy 'what if..?' So, in truth, I've missed out on nothing I couldn't live without..Enjoy!

I did heard that a lot of time. Not with relationship but when my friend wanted to try something and I refused to tag along, they'll definitely said that line. For me, I am not missing it. I'll do what I want when I want to. I don't miss anything and there's no need to say it to me. It might be a worthwhile experience but I don't see it that way.

You really cant miss what you havent experienced, had, or did yet. You're right that we have the power to decide if we want to do it or go 'tag along' with them or not. Each to their own, right? But why cant some people not help but say that.?
