The world is going to end by 2012 December 21st at 11.11pm

I'm 62 and out lived the world is going to end 5 times in my life! I guess one more won't hurt! tdemex

Einstein nver said such a thing ,he is a scientist not a astrologer,and even if the world does end in 2012,its highly unlikely it will be a comet crashing into earth,we have systems sophisticated to track any asteroid or comet in space that may be on collision course with earth which can be calculated down to more than 50 years in advance b4 it arrives from space giving us time to think of how to handle the situation.If the world does end in 2012,it will may be from the bowels of earth,just a couple of gigantic explosions from the hundreds of active volcanoes round the globe and thats all it takes,nobody not even volcanologist can predict when a volcano erupts,theres no warning,it just happens,and even if we know ,there really isnt much we can do about it,we may be able to figure out a way to divert a comet's course if it is heading towards earth,but we are helpless if the world explodes from within,spewing magma or lava and blanketing the globe with ash.Pinatubo is a good example,so small an eruption and destruction was horroble,choking and killing anything within few hundred km radius,so if the world is covered in volcanic ash,how many things can survive?

i bet you any amount of money that not only does the world continue after that day, but everything will proceed exactly as normal. every few years there is a worry that the world will end, but it never does! i think we'll all be all right. don't change your life because of this day.

Is this true and do you have any scientific provement for that?I think maybe it's just nonthense and i really do hope this kind of things will happen on me.Wow,it's horrible and i do not want to die at this age.WUEU

Well, this is common already, there have been the same announcements before but it did not happen. Not that i want it to happen, my point here is, lets all be ready cause it might happen suddenly without a warning.

Many a times I heard this sort of statements but nothing happened. But this time you are telling that Eienstein told about it which is a news to me. Nothing is in our hands. It it has to happen it will happen. But I wish it happens with less suffering to people. It it does not happen, let us live for some more years and try to do some good things in this life.

It was actually the Y2K virus which caused a scare as the Millenium began and "nasty situations around the globe" didn't really mean people dieing, it referred to the bugs in the computer softwares/programs that were causing problems because of some common flaws. It was a scare among Banks and other Organizations highly dependent on the booming computer technology. However, at the time, technical awareness was not as much among a wide expanse of people as it is today and people didn't fully understand what the hullabuloo was all about, and thus misunderstood what was actually happening. I'm only mentioning it because I wrote an article on this in the same year, which got published in the newspapers. Now, coming to the 2012 episode: People have talked about it and so has the Mayan Theory. And according to Historians, almost every single incident mentioned in the Mayan Calendar has come true till date. It might be a comet, it might be Global Warming, it might be the Nuclear race, it might be tremors, it might be something unexpected, and it might be everything, or it might be nothing at all. Whatever has to happen, will happen. What I would like to say is that we shouldn't really worry about that, but instead focus on things that are actually within our circle of influence, like contributing less to the global warming issue which is the main concern today, and ironically it's been massively overlooked no matter how many summits, etc. are held. Don't worry about what's going to happen in 2012, just worry about what can happen in the very next minute if we don't stop harming nature :)
