Most kids here in America are not used to wash plates. They just dump their dirty plates in the sink. Well, I think not only here but in any home where the kids are not taught how to clean their mess. There are kids who love to do it but most kids don;t like to clean, specially the dishes. How did you manage to let your kids wash dishes in your home? Are they doing that? or you just do it yourself so that your silver ware will not be damaged in case they will drop it? this is the most case. I just want to know how you deal with it.

Mine will rinse them off but not wash them. We have a dishwasher so I let the appliance take care of the hard work. It hard enough getting them to bus their table so when they at least make it to the sink with their dishes I'm happy. Plus, we use paper plates a lot, it saves on broken dishes. Paper plates, plastic cups, try that and see if you don't feel better.

hahaha!!! Smart enough to do that using paper plates. I suggested one time to my husband that we will use paper plates instead of real plates because I am tired of washing them. We don't have dish washer human washer only but he said, it is expensive to keep on buying disposable plates, so better use the real dishes..

Oh yes, kids at home are not exempted from washing plates. Well my only son does and he used to be actually the one in charge of the dishes. Now I have grandchildren and nieces in my house always so whenever we eat they take turns in washing the dishes. Even my 5 year old grandchild do wash the dishes together with her 8 year old sister. They enjoy doing the job together. Of course I am teaching them the right way to do it each time because I could see that they still have to learn the right technique. I am patient in teaching them because I want them to learn this chore and all other house chores actually. I don't want them to be lazy like other kids.

Correct!! I salute with you my friend. That is a good parenting.. heheheh it is very important that kids are taught to do house duties while they are yet young. It's cute to imagine your year old grand child washing dishes? I like that. How I wish my nieces are like that too.

Hello Bebs,
My son is just five years old, but I am already teaching him to wash the dishes. I want him to learn household chores so that he when time comes that he would be independent he knows how to do things. My brothers who are teenager would always fight on who will wash the dishes. They would always have the reason why not to wash.
Take Care and have fun mylotting! redamethyst

Hi,
My son is still too young to wash his own plates.
Of course, he likes to play with water and he will be happy
If I were to ask him to wash plates.
But I never let him do it before because he will create messy.
I prefer to wash the plates myself or sometimes my husband
will help me up.
Of course, when my son has grown up and started his primary school,
then I will slowly teach him how to wash a plate, make sure to
wash it clean. and at least he has to wash his own plate nexttime
after finishing his meal.
