Explaining death to a 7yr old

My daughters friend died yesterday. They played together all the time, and then she came home from school and said "Danny cant come play anymore cause the teacher said he died" she doesn't really grasp the idea thet he isn't comming back. How do I explain that to her? I don't know if I should let her go to his funeral because I think she may be too young. But then again, they have been friends since they were four.

Hello, well I would like to start off with saying that I am so sorry that your daughter has to go through this at the age she is. The only thing I could think of is say if this was to be my 7 year old daughter. I would sit down with her and state that what happened was meant to be although it was to soon for him to go. I would tell her that he is in heaven with his relatives that are taking good care of him and then I would her that she can visit him anytime she wants in her dreams and then go from there. Other then that I am not sure what else you could say. Again I am so sorry to hear that this had happened.
