How to boost firefox browser

By taking a word "about config" on firefox browser is it really make faster? I was tried it and in my opinion it not works since my firefox can't faster than before. Can you help me to boost firefox so can make faster? Maybe with improving trick above or with other trick that really works. Thanks

Download fasterfox for firefox this changes these parameters automatically to the best possible. I have been using it for like 2 years now and it is fantastic. :)
