hey can any one say that why we get tears when we chop onions ..i think because of citric acid in it,idont know its correct or not can any one say why it happens like that

Very original discussion, seriously, I haven't seen this one around yet which is pretty weird as it is something we all face one day, or face everyday, I hope not. 
Anyway to answer your question. When you chop an onion a substance containing sulfur ( or often written as: sulphur) vacates causing our eyes to react.
