Why did everyone go see it, was it that good, and what was your favorite part?

I have not seen this movie yet I dont even know whats it about. I probably wont see it in the theaters since I dont care for horror movies. I might rent it when it comes out on dvd just to see if it was scary or not and to see what all the hype was about.
