10 years without a dad then suddenly show up what will you do?

my parents got separated when i was 7 years old, my father still get intouch with us until i was 10 years old, he will take us out (me and my brothers), spend time with us and he send money for us. but something really terrible happen to his family and we lost contact to him, i was a daddy's girl even since. time passes by, i am now 20 years old, its been 10 years now since the last time i talk to him or seen him.
last week, from a long distance family of my mothers, my father was there in their house and wants to see us, my mother is has currently involve to someone, she dont want to him anymore, but she told us if we wanted, we could go and see him.
im really shocked and i dont know what to do? help me
if you were in my position what you would you do??

I think you should go and meet him without any doubts. In life, relations are very important and family matters the most. You have to be with your family nomatter what happens. I think there must be some valid reason why your dad was away for so long. Afterall he also misses you the same as much as you do.

If I was in the same situation, i would still go see him. He's my father and I can't change that fact. I would definitely want to hear his side regarding his disapperance. If it's something valid, then good. I think no matter how hurt I I were, I still cant deny that I need a father or a father figure in my life.
